The hotel is relatively new and the facilities are decent, seemingly quite upscale. However, the service completely shattered my long-held belief that Japan has the best service. The electric kettle in my room wasn't working; I wanted to make coffee, but the water temperature never increased beyond a lukewarm setting. I informed the front desk, and a young, delicate-looking woman came. After I explained, she opened the lid and said, 'This is hot water.' I poured it into a cup, and she touched it, saying, 'That's how it is.' I told her, 'This is only 40-50 degrees Celsius, how can I brew tea or coffee with this? I need boiling temperature.' She replied that she couldn't do that. I asked her what temperature a kettle should boil to, and she said there was no standard! I then told her the kettle was broken and asked her to replace it, to which she said they didn't have any. I ended up pouring a bottle and a half of cold water into the kettle, and when it still didn't heat up, she finally took it away. Throughout the entire interaction, her expression was blank and her attitude was slow and indifferent. I used to tell my friends that Japanese people's warm service isn't necessarily because they like you, but because their upbringing and professional ethics don't allow them to be rude. It's a good hotel, albeit old. I didn't like the room because of the dark interior and small window, as well as blinds that didn't open. The breakfast was decent, Japanese-style. They provided a welcome drink in the evening, but I couldn't choose anything. The hotel has an onsen, which I went there every day. The staff was very attentive, as is everywhere in Japan. Overall, the hotel's rating is downgraded, but if you're on a budget, it's a decent option. We flew out of Shizuoka, so it's a good choice if you're arriving by train. I chose room with breakfast for 2 and it is well value for money. The spa, though small, but is well kept and much undertilized. In fact, I am the only one using the spa. For self-driving travelers, this hotel is really good. It has its own parking lot, but the parking lot is computerized and multi-level. You need to drive into the elevator and a parking space will be automatically assigned, so you must ask the staff for assistance.

Breakfast was very satisfying. The specialty Shizuoka oden was varied, and there was also buta. The konjac and mugo were especially delicious. One thing I was disappointed about was that there was no fruit at all. Also, the hotel's room assignment system doesn't take requests into account at all. I requested a room with a nice view in advance, but they had already assigned me a room with a parking lot view on the second floor. They didn't assign it upon arrival; the room number was already written on the check-in form. I stopped by to store my luggage before check-in time, and it was already there. I went before the 3 o'clock check-in time, but it was useless; it was a pre-arranged plan. The female staff member was sarcastic, and her attitude was evident in her expression and tone.
She's Japanese, but she speaks Korean fluently. She didn't even realize it, and she kept speaking in Japanese. I've stayed at many hotels in Japan, but this is the first time I've experienced such service.
Wow!! Contrary to the hotel photo, there's no sauna in the women's spa! I booked because of the sauna, but I was surprised. It might be helpful to double-check our website.

A traditional Japanese inn that welcomes solo travelers. The breakfast and dinner are very rich. I didn't feel uncomfortable eating them. The portions are large. It's close to Miho-no-Matsubara and only a five-minute walk to the beach. The coastline here is very stunning and you can see Mount Fuji. Although the clerk is also a foreigner, the service is excellent. The hotel has a historical background and is not as old as imagined. The amenities are of high quality. It's a pity that I don't know how to get into the garden. It seems that people outside are not allowed to enter, and there are no outdoor shoes left in the house. Then if you have two meals, there is basically no time to play around. You should come earlier. It is recommended to take a boat from the Shimizu Fish Market. The scenery along the way is good. The weather has been bad recently, and the snow on the top of Mount Fuji has melted, so the scenery is not so transparent. The disadvantage is that after all, it's time here. Some places are aging and there is dust in the corners. There is no 24-hour front desk. The minibar is charged and there is no free water. I will come again next time when I come to Shizuoka. I regretted booking only 3 days 2 nights. It was so comfortable staying at Nihon iro. Staff was nice, amenities were complete. They even provided some discounts vouchers for nearby eateries. We can even enter the spa for free. Too bad we had such a short stay, we managed to spend time at the beach enjoying some craft beef with some cherry beans fries. Life was great for 3 days.
