This was a very pleasant place to stay before and after a hike in Seoraksan National Park. Lovely view from the balcony. Very clean and comfortable, and helpful staff!
Very convenient location. The local bus to the national park is right across the street from the hotel, and the hotel is 10 minutes walk from the express bus terminal.
I was pleasantly surprised by a washing machine in the room, which was great to clean my muddy clothes after my hike (you'll need your own laundry detergent).
The room had a kitchenette with sink, hot plate, and full-size refrigerator and freezer. The only problem is there was no pot or pan to use on the hot plate, so I could not actually use it to warm my food (unless I would travel with my own pot)!
It would be nice if the room provided a hair dryer and if the hotel had some breakfast option. The cafe downstairs offers only drinks, not food, and doesn't open until 11 a.m.
The entryway light is motion activated, and there are many electronic buttons and panels around the room that emit light, so if you are sensitive to light while sleeping, you will have to cover your eyes with a sleep mask.
Also note that it you close the sliding door between the bed and living area while the air conditioning is on, it will prevent the cold air from reaching the part of the room where the thermostat is located, so the air conditioner will remain on indefinitely, and the sleeping area will get very cold.
The various panels for lights and temperature were a bit difficult to understand. English labels would be helpful. But the receptionist was helpful and came up to my room to show me how to use the air conditioning. The USB port on the nightstand worked some of the time and sometimes it didn't. I couldn't figure out if there was a switch or setting somewhere in the room to make it work, or if it was just malfunctioning.FromUS$33

It looked like an officetel studio. It was nice having three elevators, and there was a laundry room and a convenience store on the first floor. There was also a market within a 5-minute walk, so it was convenient to buy groceries for dinner.
The room looked clean at first glance, but there was a lot of dust here and there, the wallpaper was old, and the bathroom slippers were made of some kind of acupressure plastic. I suggest you replace them with decent ones from Daiso... I stayed there for the value for money considering it was a holiday, but I don't think I'll go back next time!FromUS$38

The rooms themselves were perfectly fine. They were clean, the bed was comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep, and the amenities were exactly what you’d expect for the price point. If I were rating based on the physical space alone, this would be a solid, middle-of-the-road experience.

I'd known about Maremons Hotel through YouTube since the pandemic, hearing it was a decent hotel in Sokcho with clean bedding and formal service. I especially wanted to visit because it had a sauna. So, I finally came for an early summer vacation. The Ocean View Suite room was spacious and lovely. The unobstructed ocean view from the hillside was definitely the highlight.
At 3 PM check-in time, a lot of guests were waiting in the lobby. About 5 minutes before 3, everyone rushed to the check-in desk, forming a line that felt more like a market than a formal hotel lobby. It would be better if they implemented a number ticketing system or allowed early check-in if rooms were ready, as the first impression was quite chaotic. There were two male staff members at the check-in desk, and their service seemed very slow, which was a bit frustrating. The room's cleanliness was relatively good, and the outdoor balcony was also clean. The TV was an outdated model and needs an upgrade in the future. The coffee maker was clean, but the teacups were so old and discolored that I was reluctant to use them for coffee. The male staff member at the B1 sauna facilities was incredibly friendly, which I appreciated, and the facilities themselves were well-maintained. If I get the chance, I'd love to visit again. The view is great.
It feels a bit dated, but it offers good value for money for a large family.
The elevator is very crowded and difficult to take, and even though the parking lot is huge, there are so many cars that there is nowhere to park.
Nevertheless, the market is close (10 minutes by car) and you can see the lake, so we had a good rest.

Excellent location (I mean EXCELLENT) as it's 5 min away from the entrance of the park. It is easy to get to by bus no 7/7-1 and by taxi. The hotel looks a bit old from the outside but it is tastefully decorated on the inside and they keep very well in line with the English theme.
The rooms are clean and spacious, with very nice views. They have a nice space to put things away and a small fridge. Our shower unfortunately wasn't sealed from the shower door so we ended up with water in the whole bathroom (difficult to control with a 6'4 partner).
It has in house laundry and a small grocery shop that saved us one day it was raining too much to head back to the restaurant area.
Really recommend if you're visiting the park (or Sokcho as it's also 15-20 min away by bus). Very friendly staff.FromUS$57

It was a trip I took with my parents, and thanks to you, we had a great rest.
They felt very comfortable. The hot water flowed well, and they liked that it was hot spring water.
The sauna was also very good, but,
since my parents have bad knees, using the stairs was difficult for them, so we had no choice but to cancel it.
The breakfast was generally good,

속초에서 손 꼽게 맛있는 식당들이 2분 거리 내에 있고, 특히 속초 중앙시장까지는 10분도 안 걸리는 환상적인 편의성을 자랑하는 위치에 자리한 호텔입니다. 1층 이마트 편의점 덕분에 밖에 안 나가고 간단한 간식 구매할 수 있어 좋았습니다. 바닥 청소며 화장실도 깨끗하고, 아담한 사이즈지만 답답함이 전혀 없어 좋았습니다. 엘레베이터 근처였지만, 소음은 거의 없었고, 근처에 갔던 낙산비치호텔 보다 훨씬 조용해서 너무 좋았습니다.
