Compare 5 airports near Verona

For the majority of travelers, Verona Villafranca "Valerio Catullo" Airport (VRN) is the only choice situated within the city itself. It handles mostly international and domestic European routes, offering the most convenient access via a short shuttle bus or taxi ride. All other airports are located in neighboring cities and serve primarily as alternative gateways. Il Caravaggio International Airport (BGY), located in the nearby city of Bergamo, is a popular budget choice often used by low-cost carriers, with direct bus services that offer a balanced travel time and price. Milan Linate Airport (LIN) and Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) serve the nearby city of Milan; while they offer extensive international flight options, they require significantly longer transfers via train or bus into Verona. Similarly, Treviso Airport (TSF), located in the nearby city of Treviso, is a gateway to the Venice region but necessitates a multi-stage bus and train journey to reach Verona. Travelers prioritizing speed and convenience should always aim for VRN, while those seeking specific flight routes may find the nearby airports worthwhile despite the added travel time.

This hotel offers good value for money for guests visiting Verona. It's conveniently located, about an 8-minute walk straight after turning right from the train station exit, then another 7 minutes straight after turning right again (totaling around 15 minutes). You can reach the old town arena in about 25 minutes on foot, so most interesting places are within walking distance. The staff are friendly; I found the room a bit cool at night, and housekeeping promptly brought an extra blanket when I called. Breakfast is Italian style, with a good variety and tasty options. The hotel's decor retains its 1970s charm and is well-maintained. While some room facilities are a bit dated, particularly the electrical switches, you can see what was considered state-of-the-art in the '70s. My only regret is that the shower is over a narrow and steep bathtub. I was concerned about slipping, especially for older guests, and there were no grab bars on the wall, so I largely avoided using it.

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Maxim. One thing we really appreciated was that the hotel has a car park attached to the property, which made us feel much safer and more comfortable traveling with our car. The hotel itself is spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The room was practical, clean, and well equipped. Overall, it’s a convenient option if you’re visiting Verona by car and looking for a comfortable place to stay with easy parking.

Clean. It is a domestic economy hotel environment, but the cost is equivalent to a domestic five-star hotel. Of course, this is understandable and normal. The location is good and convenient.

I had booked the usual double room on the first floor, but when I got to the room I found the beds separate. So I went back to the reception and they put me in a room on the 5th floor not up to the standard of the rooms on the lower floors.

My stay at Hotel Accademia in Verona was truly excellent. The hotel boasts an extraordinary location in the heart of the historic center, allowing easy walking access to iconic sites like the Verona Arena and Juliet's House in just a few minutes. The property exudes timeless elegance, combining classic Italian charm with refined comfort. The room was impeccably clean, very well-maintained, and tastefully decorated, offering a peaceful and relaxing environment after a day spent exploring the city. What made the stay even more special was the exceptional professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, making guests feel genuinely at home. The breakfast was also excellent, with a quality selection served in a pleasant and elegant setting. Overall, Hotel Accademia offers a sophisticated and memorable stay. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking comfort, elegance, and a perfect location during a visit to the beautiful city of Verona.

Conveniently located near the highway, the breakfast offers a good variety and tastes great. The room was relatively quiet, but the soundproofing was a bit disappointing as I could hear snoring from the adjacent room. This time, I had a walk-in shower in my bathroom, unlike my previous stay where it was a bathtub, which felt like climbing in for a shower. The wardrobe is split into two sections: one for hanging clothes and the other with shelves, making it easy to organize.

I highly recommend this hotel. It’s close to everything — the arena, the main square, bars, and restaurants — so the location is very convenient for sightseeing. I was also upgraded to a one-bedroom room! The staff were all very kind and friendly. The amenities were great as well: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, tea bags, coffee powder, and more. Toothbrushes seem to be available upon request.

I was skeptical reading previous reviews but decided to give it a try for one night during my business trip as I’m an IHG member. Having experienced staying at 5 different hotels in this city — most of them within walking distance on Corso Porta Nuova (main street leading from the train station to many main attractions) — I can say that Indigo was among one of my top 2 choices. The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated — the headboard of the bed immediately attracted attention, striking but elegant, with paintings seemingly telling romantic tales of the city’s history; open wardrobe was clever as it made the room seem spacious while leaving plenty of space for hanging clothes and jackets especially on a rainy day. The balcony was a super nice touch and was my favorite to come back to in the evening with a view of charming Verona at night watching people and cars passing by. Two chairs, a coffee table with blankets and a little bit of floral decorations. I spent a fair bit of time despite the cold and rain, soaking in the beautiful images which were among the most special memories I’d carry with me from this trip. Check-in was super efficient. Anna at the reception was an absolute joy to meet and interact with. She’s super kind, thoughtful and professional in helping me with storing my suitcase as I was in a rush to catch my train to a nearby city on a rainy day; she gave clear, accurate info helping me to go to the train station within 10mins; and on the next day, kindly offered recommendations for cafes. Her passion and enthusiasm and friendliness is above and beyond many of her peers. Her genuine smile stands out from others who might be just trying to get their job done. You can tell Anna is truly exceptional and a wonderful ambassador for Hotel Indigo. Keep up the good work! Breakfast service was super efficient, friendly, attentive. The professional and thoughtful gentleman offered multiple times coffee, tea, orange juice, etc, making sure each guest had everything needed for a good start of the day, quickly clearing dishes while guests stepped away - perfectly seamless. Truly outstanding attention to details. The restaurant offered a good variety of food choices: raw veggies are rare in hotel breakfast buffet but here they did so that was a plus in my book. Fresh fruits, muesli, (no sugar-added) yogurt and scrambled eggs were my go-to. Although I didn’t eat pastries or bread or drink Prosecco for breakfast, if that’s something you like then you’d be pleased to know they offered plenty to satisfy different tastes. The only thing that prevented Indigo from making my No. 1 choice in Verona was the shower. I requested specifically for a shower because from the photos shared by other travelers and reviews many commented that the bath look dated and needed update. I personally do not take baths in hotels so having a new, good water pressure shower with fast efficient drain would be way more important. They did honor my request with a standup shower corner stall. However, the square-shaped shower stall area was so small that my elbows (I’m petite size female) kept knocking on the glass doors. I believe they’re scheduled for major renovation in Jan-Feb 2024 so it’d be interesting to see if they remodel the bathrooms and showers.

This was the most satisfying hotel of our Italy trip, and the price definitely played a role, haha! Probably because it's in a small town, the value for money was incredible! The service was excellent. The front desk helped us book a restaurant, and then we had to cancel because my friend wasn't feeling well, which made us feel a bit bad. Anyway, a big thank you to this hotel. If I ever visit Verona again, I'd definitely choose this hotel! It even made Verona feel more beautiful!

Building more than 600 years ago, in the core area, convenient for shopping nearby, very few people live in the hotel, only our family for breakfast for two days, there are many sweets, but super delicious, the hotel has a sense of history, there are two in the lobby, There are dog sculptures or pictures everywhere, in line with the rhythm of our house, the waiters are very polite, because there are not many customers, we all remember us, the second time I went to Verona, in addition to beauty, it was beauty!

Charming and Comfortable Stay at Hotel Firenze I had a lovely stay at Hotel Firenze. The interior is beautifully decorated, and the room was exceptionally clean. I especially appreciated the heated toilet—such a thoughtful touch! The bed was very comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was a highlight each morning—delicious and beautifully presented. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station, which made arrival and departure easy, though it’s a bit of a walk to reach the historic city center. Being next to a main road, there was some street noise, but it wasn’t disruptive. Overall, a charming and well-kept hotel that offers a pleasant and cozy stay.
