Choosing the right arrival point for your trip to Volcano depends heavily on your budget and flight itinerary. Hilo International Airport (ITO) is the clear winner for most travelers, serving the nearby city of Hilo; it provides the fastest and most affordable access to Volcano, with rental cars and taxis readily available. For those arriving internationally or needing broader flight options, Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA) in the nearby city of Kailua-Kona acts as the island's primary hub, though it requires a significant two-to-three-hour drive to reach Volcano. Smaller airports like Kamuela Airport (MUE) and Hana Airport (HNM) serve their respective nearby regions and lack frequent commercial or ground transportation links to Volcano; these should only be considered if you have a pre-arranged rental vehicle and are visiting other parts of the island first. Regardless of your choice, securing a rental car before you land is the most practical strategy for navigating the Big Island efficiently.

This is a very distinctive hotel, received us as a very kind old lady, the service is very good. It feels like a villa, very quiet, surrounded by woods, and shared hot springs. The villa is up and down, there is a shared hall, a bucket of mineral water is placed in the room, the password opens the door and the room door, the room is quite big, the facilities are also complete, it is to see if you like this old style. Breakfast and dinner are very special, I like this style very much.

Very beautiful homestay, it’s a pity to stay for a day, I should stay for a week Surrounded by forest, no walls, very natural environment, fresh air, breakfast in the refrigerator beforehand, there are papaya, banana, pineapple, and several pieces of cake The room is clean and beautiful, with a lot of towels, ample space, living in the master room, next to the Office, and gift shop Although the check-in time is from 2pm to 5pm, but even after the time, there is its own check-in guide at the door. The staff who received me were very helpful and asked my name to take me to the room. The Wi-Fi is great, the parking space is free, everything is very convenient, and the location is also good. If you want to go to the Volcano Park, it feels like it will be there in ten minutes!

A very cozy little homestay with three rooms. The sisters take care of everything together. They renovated all the rooms after they took over here last year. All the facilities are brand new and the rooms are very spacious. As the flight was delayed for 4 hours, it was already more than 8 o'clock in the evening to the hotel. They also called Ctrip to remind us that the front desk would leave work at 6 o'clock, and attached a detailed self-check-in guide. Follow the instructions and everything goes well. Stayed for two nights. Fresh juice, banana cakes, fruit bowls and homemade puddings were available in the refrigerator. Yogurt and coconut cakes were provided for breakfast the next day. Each room was equipped with a microwave, drip coffee machine and hot water bottle. The banana cake is a big piece, and I only finished breakfast in two days. So there is no chance to taste the coconut cake at all, a pity. Because it is newly decorated, the bed is equipped with a power socket, and there are two USB ports, voltage and converter problems are all solved. This is the third time we have come to the Big Island. We have already experienced at least six hotels and homestays of all levels. This is really rare in the local area. The only downside is that the soundproofing is really not good. The uncle next door is snoring like thunder. So earplugs at the head of the room can be considered a solution.

Accommodation on the Big Island of Hawaii is very expensive. It is difficult to find a good and cheap hotel near the Volcano National Park. The only choice is the B&B. Do not think that the B&B is a single-family villa. This is not a home in Australia or Hawaii. Very expensive, the price you see, you can only rent a room in the villa, the kitchen and living room are to be shared with others. This lodge is less than a hundred years old. It is difficult to find. The place to check in is not together with the lodge, and you must see the check-in time. If you miss it, people will get off work. The staff will give you a map, clear. Tell you where the hut is, or give him the navigation directly. He will help you enter the coordinates, which is easy to find. The hut is about 1 km from the studio and drives very fast. The car can be parked in the open space at the door, the cabin is very clean, the living room is heated and the ceiling fan is on. It seems that the temperature difference between the mountains and the forest is very high. There is also a Chinese family who stays together. It’s just that everyone can chat and not feel restrained. The room is not big, the toiletries in the bathroom are very complete. Fortunately, the upstairs room is on our family. No one shared the bathroom. I have already said that this house has been said for a hundred years. It can be kept like this. It is already very good. There are supermarkets and restaurants nearby, you have to drive out, the price of the supermarket is a bit high, it is better to solve the dinner directly in the restaurant, breakfast can be bought in the supermarket, so the kitchen of the wooden house is useless. When you check out, just throw the key directly into the door mailbox and someone will clean it.

It should be said that it is a homestay. At the end of a small road on the right of the post office, there is a large yard with free parking. The lady who received us was very enthusiastic and made breakfast for us every day. Basically, we had breakfast at 8 o'clock in the morning when we checked in Only to see her, friends who came late can check in by themselves as long as they read the name of the person who made the reservation on the door of the room. Papaya for breakfast is delicious. Very close to the Volcano Park, 10 minutes by car. There is a good Thai food around the hotel. On the first night, the starry sky we saw in the courtyard of the hotel was not as good as that on the top of the stargazing mountain, so there is no need to come back so late. Hahahaha The price/performance ratio of this hotel is quite high. This area is still a bit cold at night. We bought a car ticket for 30 dollars to go to Volcano Park. You can still enter and leave by ticket the next day. It is a pity that many landscapes in the Volcano Park are closed now, so I can't see it anymore.

The homestay is about 20 minutes drive from the Volcano Park. We arrived at night. The landlord was not there at that time. He left a note at the gate to guide us how to park and stay. The facilities in the room are very complete. Breakfast paper is prepared according to the number of people every day. After filling it every night, it is placed in the mailbox outside the room. The staff who make breakfast the next day will send breakfast to the room between 8-9 points. This is a homestay in the pasture. There are ducks, chickens, goose, pigs, sheep and dogs around. Hahaha, the glass room of the room can see the small animals at any time. The disadvantage is that they are still a bit ... 👀, but this is a very special experience. I came back that day and opened the door and didn't pay attention. The lamb ran in. Hahahahaha. The facilities in the room are perfect and complete. There's even a small fireplace, electric blankets, microwave ovens and popcorn prepared by the landlord Hawaiian juice in the refrigerator 🧃 anyway, it is recommended to come and live in a family of a large or multi-person travel. 🤙🤙 Oh, by the way, the decoration in the recent Halloween B&B is also full of atmosphere. The first night is full of mystery. Hahahaha

This is a very distinctive homestay! A few minutes drive from the Volcano Park, the environment is quiet, away from the hustle and bustle, frogs and birds call, like living in the forest, the bed is very large and comfortable, and the sleep is very sweet!

You can feel the wooden house in the forest; the location is near the National Volcano Park, deep in the forest; there is a small parking lot, and there is a small cart and luggage to the room; the hotel has 5 small villas, self-check in ,check out. Breakfast is two slices of toast, two boxes of milk, and a small plate of fruit. The room has a refrigerator, oven, microwave, coffee machine, and kettle. It’s very cold at night, thanks to the fireplace in the room, There is an electric blanket on the bed; the room I live in cannot accommodate an extra bed. The room is round, surrounded by forests. I didn't see the staff at check-in or check-out. During my stay, I only encountered a cute tabby cat at the front desk of the hotel.
