Hygiene: I found a foreign object, a piece of paper (not sure where it came from), in my breakfast rice noodles. The restaurant manager didn't explain what it was and just took it away, only offering to recook the noodles or provide wontons instead. This was a really bad experience and instantly ruined my appetite.
The picture shows the elevator when I was checking out. As a mid-to-high-end hotel, the inspection hatch in the elevator shouldn't be left open like that.
Given that the price increased by about 50% during the event (my booking price was 1166 RMB), the hotel should at least provide the basic hygiene and safety that a 600-700 RMB hotel would offer, instead of just raising prices and failing to deliver even basic hygiene and safety guarantees.

When I checked in, the front desk offered freshly baked sweet potatoes and tea, which was a really thoughtful touch. They also told me about the hotel's facilities: there's a self-service laundry room with a dryer on the first floor, and I could even hit the gym if I wanted to. Plus, there's a Wanda Plaza nearby and a night market in the evenings, which is quite fun. They also proactively told me that it's only a 15-minute taxi ride to the airport, which was great since I had a flight the next day. The Olympic Sports Center is also very close. The best part is that the hotel provides three meals a day! Both lunch and supper offer freshly prepared main courses for free. There's a large, free parking lot right in front of the hotel. This is a real stay experience, and it really ruined my holiday. I just have to get this off my chest.
First, the booking process was incredibly frustrating and just baffling.
I purchased a 'two-night continuous stay' package on a certain e-commerce platform. When I first called to make a reservation, I was told, 'You can't book for the same day; you must book at least one day in advance.' So, obediently, I submitted a reservation request for a two-night consecutive stay starting the next day, doing so the night before (around 11 PM). The page showed 'pending confirmation,' and I waited for a full ten and a half hours—until around 10 AM the next day—only to receive a cold notification that my reservation had failed.
Frustrated, I immediately made a new direct booking for a single night for the same day. That one was confirmed and successful in seconds. This is just ridiculous—it's the same manual review process, so why did the overnight booking take ten and a half hours? I've never encountered anything like it.
What made it even more infuriating was the reason for the rejection. When I mentioned it to the front desk during check-in, I later received a call from the reservations department, who self-righteously told me: 'You requested an elephant-themed room in your remarks, which is an unreasonable request and not within the scope of booking.' I immediately retorted—your hotel's sales pages for both room types clearly show four display images each, all featuring elephant elements. I made that remark precisely because I saw those pictures. Their response was simply, 'You're mistaken, that's just the hotel's overall style.' I asked if they should at least call to confirm, and the reply was, 'We don't have that procedure.'
After hanging up, I immediately went back to the platform, took screenshots, and confirmed that I was not mistaken. I called back again and asked them to check the marketing images published by their operations department to see who was being 'unreasonable.' And then—nothing. No one has contacted me since. Front office and reservations department, please sort out your internal promotional materials before telling customers whether their remarks are 'unreasonable.' Second, the environment is actually decent. The hotel is on a very high floor; I stayed on the 40th floor, so the views were expansive and a definite plus. However, there were no smart devices in the room, and the room size was much smaller than expected.
Third, the hygiene condition was honestly disappointing. What I found most unbearable was the bathroom countertop—when I leaned down to wash my face in the morning, I clearly saw residual historical stains under the counter. I was genuinely disgusted.

The room was clean and the latex mattress and pillows were unusually comfortable. The room was very quiet, I didn't expect to sleep happily until dawn during the trip.
Dry and wet separation is done very well. The shower is large and very comfortable. The TV is a big projection, but we don't watch TV and videos, so it's useless.
The front desk and service staff are very welcoming. An extra bath towel and a pack of paper towels were sent soon.
Breakfast is cost-effective, 28 yuan a piece, not 48 in Trip.com . In fact, even 48 a piece, the price is very good. There are shrimp, glutinous rice, green dates, very delicious.

After staying at Dongtou B&B, I couldn't help but sigh that it is worthy of the heritage of the old hotel. There was no price increase during the May Day holiday. It opened in 1998 and was renovated in 2019. The hotel is clean, bright and has no odor. You can scan the code and ride a bike to Xunshan Park and Nantang Tourist Area.
A few friends went out together. The three rooms they booked for us were all lined up. I took a nap and found three bottles of drinks hanging on the door.
The breakfast was very rich, and we didn't feel hungry for lunch. Crazy city

**Ambiance:** My child booked it for our trip. Initially, I was drawn to its excellent location, being within walking distance of Wuma Street. However, I didn't have high hopes for the ambiance, thinking it might be an older, dated five-star hotel. To my surprise, the room looked comfortable and luxurious, a stark contrast to the lobby. The bedding was also very comfortable. It's an established five-star hotel that truly pays attention to detail.

It's a resort hotel, but the room facilities are average. Almost all the facilities in the room are very old, especially the charging port plugs can't be plugged in and will fall off. If you stay for a few days, you have to pay for laundry. There is no self-service laundry. There is a small refrigerator in the room but it is not powered. It is not suitable for business travel, but other than these, the environment and services are OK. What I don't understand the most is that the room is still very dark even if all the lights are turned on. The bathroom is completely transparent and has no curtains. Overall, it was decent, and I'd come again. Although the room wasn't much to look at, the service was excellent, and I slept really well. I mainly trust Kaiyuan hotels.
The room design is more business-oriented (and a bit ugly). The layout is mostly functional but has some oddities; the bathroom and bedroom are practically 50/50, making the space feel a bit cramped despite the room being quite large. However, this kind of space gave me a sense of security, and I slept very well. The curtains aren't automatic, which probably reflects the hotel's age. The location is excellent. Being on a high floor, the night view is beautiful (daytime is just okay), even if it's mostly buildings.
