Choosing this hotel for our vacation was absolutely the right decision! The overall design is fantastic, and opening the window reveals stunning, expansive mountain views. The infinity pool overlooks the mountains, so no filters are needed for photos. The staff, from check-in to subsequent service, were attentive and thoughtful. The breakfast selection was much richer than I expected, even the local specialty snacks were very authentic. It's super convenient for sightseeing and buying souvenirs nearby. After staying for three days, I really didn't want to leave! I've already recommended this place to all my friends who are planning a trip to Guilin Yangshuo.
I'd seen comments about toilet cleanliness issues before, but during my stay, I didn't encounter any such problems. Instead, I found the bathrooms to be clean and tidy, with no hidden spots for grime. I later learned that the previous toilets, due to using well water, developed yellow stains and limescale in the water reservoir over long-term use that was impossible to clean. To ensure a better and more comfortable guest experience, the hotel promptly ordered and replaced all the old toilets with new ones. The hotel's location is excellent; it's a hidden gem, from its position to its architecture. You can relax by the Yulong River, and the hotel's greenery is lovely. In the mornings, you can hear roosters crowing and birds singing. It's quiet and far from the city's hustle and bustle. Check-in is entirely self-service. The annoying part was not finding the elevator, so I had to carry my luggage up to the room. I only discovered the elevator's location later when I went for a walk. The hotel has a Chinese restaurant open for both lunch and dinner, and we ate all our meals there. The food was decent, and guests get a 10% discount. During our two-day stay, I felt that the older staff members were more attentive, responsible, and genuinely helpful. This includes the security guard in the parking lot and the cleaning lady on our floor. When we left, the parking attendant even helped us load our luggage into the car. The cleaning lady did a very thorough job on the second day; she even folded our pajamas neatly, and the beds were spotless. At breakfast, an older, tall, and thin staff member saw me taking something like guilinggao (tortoise jelly) without adding any condiments. He immediately told me it needed condiments, otherwise it would be tasteless, and even led me to where they were. I was truly touched. It was a small gesture, but it showed genuine kindness and care for guests. Takeaway food deliveries can only be left downstairs, which is very inconvenient for pick-up. The hotel is about 2km from West Street, and there's a free shuttle bus which makes getting there super convenient. When the weather's nice, it's a pleasant walk, and you even pass the Li River along the way! Our room had a lovely Chinese-style decor, clean, comfortable, and with a balcony. It was really quiet at night since it's located in the village. Getting to Yulong River and the Ten-Mile Gallery is easy too, whether you rent an e-bike or take a Didi. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and gave us lots of great travel tips. Traveling to Yangshuo with my child, I compared many hotels before finally settling on this Rice Field Hotel, and I truly felt I made the right choice!
The distance from West Street actually became an advantage. It's quiet and peaceful, not noisy at all, offering great privacy. Looking out, all you see are rice fields and small mountains – the view is incredibly soothing.
The room has a large floor-to-ceiling window, so you can enjoy the mountain and river views right from your bed. I absolutely loved the scenic bathtub in the bathroom; a bath at night with a gentle breeze was so relaxing. The cleanliness was impeccable; there wasn't a speck of dust on the floor or in the corners of the bed. The bed was super soft, ensuring both adults and children slept soundly.
Families with kids, just go for it! The hotel has an infinity pool with a shallow area, and my child splashed around there all afternoon and didn't want to leave. There's also a mirrored observation deck on the rooftop, perfect for spontaneous, picture-perfect family photos. Just a few steps outside are vast rice fields and a charming old-fashioned miniature train. Taking the kids to walk along the field paths and look at the greenery, getting close to nature, was much more enjoyable than visiting crowded tourist spots.
The butler was very helpful and responsive; they'd come right away if we needed anything. The Guilin rice noodles for breakfast were authentic and delicious. Our two-day stay was absolutely delightful. The butler was incredibly responsive and proactive, and the housekeeper's attention to detail, both with general cleaning and turndown service, was exceptional. There are also many small animals to feed on-site, including peacocks, ducks, alpacas, and fish, and guests can participate in hotel activities like making hydrangeas.

Service: I communicated with the hotel in advance that my partner and I would be staying, and we were pleasantly surprised to find our room simply decorated with a complimentary small cake! All hotel services are handled via a WeChat group. Upon check-in, they send breakfast and drink menus. The butler was very responsive to messages in the WeChat group, but the complimentary bicycle rental was never mentioned.
Dining: Breakfast is à la carte, and the presentation is exquisite. However, the taste was just so-so. The beef brisket noodle soup had very hard noodles, and the Spanish omelet was quite greasy. The biggest issue was that some breakfast dishes took an excessively long time to be served. The afternoon tea offers some paid snacks that tasted good. We also set aside one evening to dine at the hotel. The crispy farm duck and stir-fried cured meat with fresh bamboo shoots were delicious, but I wouldn't recommend the black pepper short ribs! The late-night snack also included two soups (one sweet, one savory) and a fruit platter.
Cleanliness: On our first night, while getting ready, we found a long hair that didn't belong to us on the showerhead. For a hotel in this price range, that's really unacceptable, and I hope they pay more attention to this in the future!FromUS$387
