Overall, a great stay! We got a room upgrade with a direct view of the green mountains across the river, and the sound of the water was incredibly soothing and relaxing. It was during the May Day holiday, so the customer service seemed a bit overwhelmed, but their attitude was genuine. The hotel's location is superb, right at the exit of the cable car entrance, which is unbeatable.
Hiking up from the Waishuangxi cable car was quite challenging, especially with kids. However, experiencing the beautiful mountain scenery shrouded in mist and clouds after a sudden shower and strong winds made it all worthwhile. I went to Yushan on a business trip and chose to stay at the Huayun Hotel, which was outside the standard range. It was dozens of dollars over the standard, and I felt so sad. Of course, the price is a bit more expensive than the surrounding Yuhong and Yutai. But it's cheaper than the nearby Hampton by Hilton. Check-in experience:

Room: It feels okay because it has been renovated. There are welcome fruits and handwritten check-in cards on the table, which feels good. I had an excellent stay at this homestay. The room was spotless, all the appliances worked perfectly, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the cable car to the Sanqingshan Scenic Area.
The owner was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to help with everything I needed. From arranging tickets to the scenic area to securing transportation back to Shangrao, I felt completely taken care of throughout my stay.
Food is never a worry here. There’s a restaurant right downstairs, and the husband is a fantastic cook. In the morning, breakfast is served right in front of the homestay, making it easy to fuel up before heading out for a day of hiking.

You can tell the owner put a lot of effort into decorating the B&B. The rockery and fish pond downstairs are beautiful. The toiletries in the room were all high-quality. One person couldn't finish the breakfast. The B&B also has a swimming pool, which the kids enjoyed.
