This Hokkaido Museum of Northern Peoples is located at the foot of Mount Tiandu on the outskirts of Abashiri, Hokkaido, Japan. It is the last stop on the Abashiri tourist bus line and is also a paid museum. There is only 800 meters walking distance between the Northern Peoples Museum and Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum. It takes ten minutes to go down from Drift Ice Hall. It only takes 2 minutes by tourist bus. The permanent exhibition hall system of the Northern Peoples Museum displays the past life, production status and civilization development of the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido, and is of high value for a comprehensive understanding of the Ainu culture.
In order to learn more about the Ainu people, I have introduced the origin, life, and customs of various aspects, which is very rewarding. On Tiandu Mountain, it is in line with Ryuhokan and Abashiri Prison.
A limited-time small exhibition and interactive platform outside. The content on display is quite representative, and it is indeed possible to understand some of the characteristics of the northern peoples, especially the costumes and musical instruments, which are very delicate and beautiful.
It is a small ethnic museum. It is located in a botanical garden about one kilometer south of the Hokkaido University campus near Docho, Hokkaido. The museum has exhibits and videos on Ainu folk house models, clothing, food, shelter, religious activities, and folk art.
