National Gallery of Art

It is a very pleasant experience to spend a couple of hours in this gallery. In fact, it’s not enough to visit it once (given the size of it, and it’s always free to visit!). I particularly enjoyed looking at the architecture of the newer part of this gallery (see photos). Also, the vibe is really good and perhaps it has something to do with the abundance of natural sunlight. Definitely recommended to plan a visit to this place!

As a museum fan, it is really deep in love with DC. There are many museums in the line, covering all kinds of theme content, and it can't stop at all. The National Gallery of the United States is one of the largest and most famous art galleries in the world. It was donated and built in 1937. The museum has three parts: the East Museum, the West Museum and the Sculpture Park. The West Museum mainly collects European and American art works from the 13th to the early 20th century. The East mainly displays modern art works from the 20th century. The sculpture park is super comfortable and very suitable for patting.

The National Gallery of the United States in Washington, DC is one of the largest art museums in North America. Established in 1937, the National Gallery of the United States is a privately established museum, and Andrew • Mailon (Andrew Mellon) donated a large amount of art and construction funds. The museum is divided into east and west buildings, and the newly built East Building is designed by Chinese-American Pei Xuming.

Definitely felt like a magical place, laced with elegance and fine architecture.

There are Da & Vinci's Ginevra & Debenchi, Raphael's Notre Dame, Van Eyre's Notre Dame Receipt, and other classical European artists including Friar Angelico, Pietro &, Della &, Francesca, Berlini, Rembrandt, Manet and Monet. Due to the itinerary plan, we only stayed in the West Pavilion for two hours. The East Pavilion had no time to enter at all and left regrettably. During this period, while watching and taking pictures, about dozens of collections were taken with mobile phones. Compared with tens of thousands of collections, these photographs are like a drop in the ocean. There are many treasures that can't even be seen in time. It is strongly recommended that you should preview the history of Western art before going to the museum, and then get a brief introduction of the collection in Chinese, which will be very helpful for your visit.

Every collection in the National Gallery of Art has its profound historical background and cultural presentation. Two of the paintings must be seen when they are collected. One is a portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci and the other is a self-portrait of Van Gogh. This portrait was created by Leonardo Da Vinci at the age of 22. It is a portrait of a 16-year-old Florentine married to an official who is twice her age. This treasure is one of the 19 existing works of Leonardo Da Vinci in the world.

It takes three to five hours to finish. We only spent two hours shopping and closed at 5:30 p.m. The exhibition here is pleasant to the eye. If we have enough time and immerse ourselves in such a palace of art, we can get to know the painters one by one and appreciate the masterpieces one by one, which is tantamount to reading a vivid history of Western art. The treasure of the town hall is Leonardo Da Vinci's painting Ginevra De Benci. This is the only Da Vinci painting in the United States. It's in Hall Six. The picture has no railings, no glass, and can be viewed closely. I marveled at the sheen of the curly hair. And as soon as I got to the Impressionist showroom, I began to close the showroom. Watching Monet's Woman with an Umbrella, it's a pity that he can't get close to it. So remember to close at 5:30 p.m. and make sure you plan your trip.
