What travelers say:
We met for dinner at this wonderful Greek restaurant in Ijburg. We read about the owner in a recently published book called Flavors of Life, and were inspired to visit. So glad we did. We were warmly greeted and had the choice of eating inside or outside on a two-tiered patio area. We chose inside as it was quite windy. The restaurant has multiple levels of seating and is quite open and beautiful. Now to the food. Wow, so amazing. We started with several appetizers, all of which held great flavors and were nicely presented. We chose the calamari, saganaki cheese, and a stuffed eggplant. Then onto the main courses. We ordered three to be shared by the four at our table. It was plenty of food. You must try the lamb chops, as well as the fish (Dorada). Both were fantastic. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the entrees. The wine list is good, but we ended up just ordering the house red by the carafe, and that was fine. Service throughout was perfect -- friendly and attentive. They create a very inviting feel for their guests, and clearly there were mostly locals here as it is a bit out of the way for the normal tourist crowd coming to Amsterdam. It is definitely worth a trip though if you are in search of authentic Greek food, in a great setting. I do not give out many five stars, but I-Grec fits the bill for sure.
