The Zhejiang Provincial Museum was founded in 1929. It was formerly known as “Zhejiang West Lake Museum” and is divided into two major districts, Gushan and Wulin. It is a large comprehensive humanities museum integrating collection, display and research in Zhejiang Province. There are more than 100,000 pieces of cultural relics in the collection. Among them, pottery, lacquerware, woodware, bones and ivory products of Hemudu culture, jade and silk fabrics of Liangzhu culture; bronzes of Yueguo, celadon of Yueyao, Longquan kiln, Southern Song Dynasty kiln, etc., Huiji bronze mirror and Huzhou Bronze mirrors; works by Zhejiang-Chinese painters and painters in the Ming and Qing Dynasties are famous cultural treasures.
