#wecreate This place, shine, temple, garden, space out of our time line is located in Nagoya, a not so visited city of Japan compared with others, but it does have some of the most impressive places that I saw during my last visit. The Atsura Jingu was built around 1900 years ago, and currently is the most sacred place in the city. Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi sword being one of imperial Japan religia makes this shrine it's home. After a walk by its gardens we had some traditional Eel just a few minutes walking from it. Storing the sacred sword of the imperial regalia, this Shinto shrine is well worth a visit even though there are few English signs. Arriving at Jingu Nishi station follow the sign marked 300 m to the west entrance. After 2-3 minutes turn left & follow the crowds along the tree lined walk-way to the main shrine. After offering prayers, walk to the left & around to the back of the shrine, continuing the path until reaching steps by a stream. There enjoy flicking water onto the central rock with the wooden ladles while making a wish! The path eventually leads back to the entrance. I was impressed by the atmosphere. There is a hand washing area for tourists to wash there hands before started to pray. The day I visited was coincident with a wedding ceremony(I think). A paid museum is located inside as well. After catching up with the cherry blossoms of the day, the fatigue of the journey almost made us pass the hot building of the Atsuta Shrine, one of the three major shrines in Japan. The Atsuta Shrine is built in the style of the gods and has a history of 1900 years. The main shrine of the shrine is the hot god, one of the highest-ranking shrines in Japan, with more than 2,000 pieces of antiques, literature and art, covering an area of nearly 200,000 square meters. Various large-scale events are often held here, with traditional Japanese weddings being the most common. The hot field festival on June 5th is the hottest time of the Atsuta Shrine, and you can enjoy the lantern event and the fireworks show.

#nagoyatrip A beautiful shrine, a must visit if you are in Nagoya. The grounds are large but the shrine itself was compact. I am guessing that not many tourists come here as all the signs are in Japanese only, so a translation app is recommended if you do not speak Japanese. It is worth reading about the significance of the shrine as well, and the sacred sword contained inside, which is hidden from public view. Definitely recommend if you are in Nagoya.

#2024wish Address: 1 Chome-1-1 Jingu, Atsuta Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 456-8585, Japan Hatsumode is the first shrine / temple prayer visit during the Japanese New Year's 🎊 holidays and is usually done during the first few days of the new year. I had visited Atsuta Jingu in Nagoya for the Hatsumode to pray for good luck and health for the upcoming year. The shrine was crowded with lots of visitors praying, buying lucky charms and drawing their New Year's Omikuji (drawing of fortune-telling paper slip to tell your luck for the year). There are also a lot of festival food stalls selling lots of delicious 🤤 meals and snacks. It's definitely a very interesting experience one should go for as well. In 2024, I wish to experience more different festivals and events overseas.

It is said that Oda Nobunaga came here to pray before he left for the expedition. As a result, he won the battle of Ozazama and defeated Imai Yoshimoto with a disparate force, so he built a Nobunaga wall and enshrined it in Atsuta Shrine. I met the wedding procession, and I suddenly felt the oncoming spring. The beautiful scenery, the mood is graceful. I saw all kinds of people coming to spring in the garden. You can tell whether it is a tourist taking pictures or a local spring outing girl by walking in small steps~ I ate the famous Jingu miso noodles inside.
