About Ankang

Ankang is located in the southeast of Shaanxi Province. It is known for its biodiversity and wide range of Chinese medicinal herbs. Xiangxi Cave scenic spot is not far away from Ankang City, with Ba Mountain in the south and Han River in the north. It is divided into several scenic areas such as Xiangxi Cave, Santian Gate, Wenwu Mountain, the Centipede Mountain and the Cattle Hoof Mountain. The scenic site is surrounded by high mountains and peaks, with streams flowing down the mountains. The wild flowers and herbs among the mountains provide a colorful landscape. According to legend, Lü Dongbin became an immortal here and his descendants built a bridge and a building here and dug out rocks to form "Xiangxi Cave."

Located at the foot of Tianzhu Mountain to the southwest of Ankang City, Yinghu Lake is a large freshwater artificial lake in the northwestern region formed upon completion of Ankang Hydroelectric Station. The lake is surrounded by hills with gentle slopes covered in dense vegetation. It is a great place to stay cool in summer. As it is wide and clean, a variety of activities, such as rowing boats, speedboating and fishing, are available. There are several restaurants in the scenic area where you can taste fresh fish, such as silverfish and mandarin fish from Yinghu Lake.

Mount Tianzhu is sitauted in Hanbin District, Ankang City. It got is name because the peak seems like a pillar that goes into the sky (Tianzhu meaning sky pillar). The mountain landscape is treacherous and covered with vegetation. Several mountains follow one after another. The natural environment is beautiful. The Baiyun Temple on the mountain was build during the Tang Dynasty, and is one of Ankang's eight great sights. The temple is filled with incense, and the buildings have a majestic atmosphere. There are thousands of Buddha statues, leaving visitors in awe.
