About Anning

Anning is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Kunming in Yunnan province. It located to the west of Kunming on the eastern edge of the Central Yunnan Plateau. The area is rich in mineral resources and is the largest steel, salt and phosphorus manufacturing center in Yunnan. Popular attractions include hot springs, Caoxi Temple, ancient rock inscriptions, Muyang Lake and Qinglong Canyon Scenic Area.

Anning is a famous hot spring town. Anning Hot Spring, also known as Biyuquan, is located at the foothills of Yuquan Mountain and has a consistent temperature throughout the year. The spring water is clear and can be directly consumed. The air is clear, the trees are dense, and there are many hot springs of different sizes. The Ming Dynasty poet Yang Shen once said that this is the "the best soup under heaven" and is a great place to visit when visiting Kunming.
