The Anxi Confucian Temple was built in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the existing buildings are in the Qing Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Li Guangdi, a native of Anxi, was appointed as a senior scholar of Wenyuange and Minister of Officials (equivalent to a prime minister). Anxi Confucian Temple is a relatively complete Confucian Temple in China. It is a relatively complete ancient architectural art group in the south of the Yangtze River. It is a grand project, exquisite in art, majestic and magnificent, with distinctive characteristics of the times and places, and its artistic value and scientific value. It is quite high, fully demonstrating the wisdom and talent of the Chinese working people and reflecting the high achievement of Anxi's material culture at that time. Its architectural style has spread to Japan, and it is an important example of the history of Sino-Japanese cultural and technological exchanges. In June 2006, Anxi Confucian Temple was identified as the sixth batch of national important cultural relics protection units.
