Qingshuiyan, formerly known as Zhang Yan, was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. Zen Master Puzu, a monk in the Northern Song Dynasty, once practiced here. Seeing the clear spring water, he changed its name to build a temple. Patriarch Qingshui has many believers in southern Fujian and Southeast Asia. There are more than 60 Qingshui Zushi Temples in the bay. Overseas Chinese gathering areas in Southeast Asia, such as the "Snake Temple" in Penang, Malaysia, also enshrine Patriarch Qingshui. Therefore, Qingshuiyan is a temple located on a mountain in Anxi, Fujian, dedicated to the ancestor of Qingshui. The locals say it is very effective, so there are many believers and tourists, and it has the charm of an ancient temple hidden in the mountains. Since the scenic spot is built on the mountain, you must first climb a small section of the mountain to pray for blessings. The mountain is not high, and climbing is all about exercising.
