The art of Nebuta

#localescapes
The Nebuta Warasse museum attempts to capture the spirit of the festival and gives visitors a taste of its lively atmosphere, history and traditions. Upon entering the second floor entrance to the exhibitions, visitors are presented with the sights of the festival along a red corridor lined with images from the Nebuta Matsuri's 300 year history. Lanterns in the shape of red goldfish, another symbol of the festival, hang along the corridor where the recorded sounds of taiko drums, flutes, and voices play.

The Warasse Nebuta House is close to the station. The second floor is an exhibition hall, and regional specialties are sold on the first floor. The large lantern picture used for the opening of Nebuta Festival is based on fairy tales. Some parts look like hands or ocean spray, giving visitors an insight into the components. It's very interesting. Regular activities are also held here, but if you miss them, never mind - the exhibit is great in its own right!

#timetotravel
The concept for Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse was part of the "Basic Plan for the Rejuvenation of the Aomori Station area" in 2004. The plan was devised to keep tourism and businesses present in central Aomori after the 2010 opening of the Tōhoku Shinkansen and Shin-Aomori Station that would supplant the Tōhoku Main Line and Aomori Station, leading to a potential shift in commuter traffic away from the city's central district.[1] The plan called for a public cultural facility near Aomori Station that focused on the Aomori Nebuta Matsuri summer festival that takes place annually on the waterfront of Aomori Bay.

The place of top Apple production ! 🍎🍏
#2024wish
Aomori is known for its apple production, and the A-Factory showcases this, offering hundreds of apple based products and souvenirs to buy. It’s only a 5-minutes walk from the train station 🚉 It’s actually very very nice to walk around simply because the space is huge! The apple gelato 🍨 is very tasty and refreshing.
In 2024, I want to visit Japan 🇯🇵 again !

A-FACTORY in Aomori, Japan 🇯🇵
#2024wish
A-FACTORY is a popular market-style shopping center that sells local products such as sweets, processed goods, fresh vegetables and fruits. It is located a short 1-minute walk from Aomori Station. With Aomori as the Japan’s top apple producer, of course we had to try the apple cidre (cider) produced onsite using Aomori grown apples. We could also join the tour to observe the process of cidre production through glass windows in the factory. In 2024, I want to visit Aomori in Japan 🇯🇵 again !

I celebrated the New Year abroad | Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art in Japan
| Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art in Japan.
🌟🌟🌟 Celebrating the New Year overseas in Aomori, Japan. It's my second visit to Aomori, and I really like Japanese culture. Aomori, which faces Hokkaido across the sea, has hot springs, snowmen, delicious milk, and more. I visited the Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art, located near the Sannai-Maruyama Jomon Site in Aomori City. The museum's architecture is quite distinctive, said to be inspired by the excavation site of the Sannai-Maruyama Jomon Site.
🌟🌟🌟 The museum's masterpiece is an 8.5-meter-tall Aomori Dog statue designed by the world-renowned contemporary artist Yoshitomo Nara. The museum also houses many works by Yoshitomo Nara, as well as works by the world-famous Aomori-born printmaker Shiko Munakata.
🌟🌟🌟 There are not many tourists on the streets, and I like the streets of Aomori, which are neat, clean, and orderly in a developed country. However, sometimes when the train passes by, it feels like I've traveled back to the 1980s.

The Aomori Prefectural Museum of Art that I miss.
Three years ago, I visited the Aomori Museum of Art and I still can't forget it.
White walls all around, printed with countless small pine needles, inspired by the Sannei Maruyama Shōbun ruins.
On that day, it happened to be snowing heavily, with a vast expanse of whiteness, a combination of nature and culture. It was born from the snow, as if it wanted to melt into the white snow. That's probably what it means.
The most famous work in the museum is Nara Yoshitomo's, which is the white Aomori dog lying in the courtyard. It is said that snowy days are the best time to see the big dog. In addition, the unfriendly and angry girl series is also a must-visit spot. After all, as a person from Aomori Prefecture, he is now a representative of Aomori's culture and art.
On the first floor, there are four famous paintings that tell a story of love and death. There will be an immersive explanation with light and electricity, which is a very novel experience.

Aomori City (青森) in Aomori Prefecture is the northernmost prefectural capital city on Honshu, Japan's main island. This port town used to be the main departure point to Hokkaido via ferry; and, although it remains the main port for car ferries, the opening of the Seikan Undersea Railway Tunnel and the advent of cheap flights have reduced ridership and many travelers now bypass the city altogether.
Aomori (Japanese: 青森市, Hepburn: Aomori-shi, IPA: [aoꜜmoɾi]; lit. "Blue Forest City") is the capital city of Aomori Prefecture, in the Tōhoku region of Japan. As of 1 August 2023, the city had an estimated population of 264,945 in 136,781 households,[1] and a population density of 321 people per square kilometer spread over the city's total area of 824.61 km2 (318.38 sq mi).
