We just had a last minute dinner on the terrace on a cool summer evening. We started out with a wonderful Prosecco as the fountain and flower provided a beautiful ambiance. We indulged in the fresh truffles on our risotto and it was amazing. The Caesar salad was crisp and fresh. I was in the mood for chicken and it was a breast filled with fontina cheese, delicious. Christian and the staff are professional and welcoming. A must for any Italian food connoisseur !

La Grotta Ristorante Italiano

This is our 5th visit to La Grotta and as an out of towner, I hesitate to say too much as I don&#39;t want tourists finding this little local gem. Great service, excellent food and an extensive wine selection. They also have an outdoor seating courtyard which is a pleasant suprise given the location. This is authentic, upscale Northern Italian cuisine and a great date restaurant or for a special occasion.

We moved to Atlanta in 1987 and had dinner at La Grotta. It was good, especially coming from a city where there were not many good restaurants. We went there last night ( 29 years later!) with 3 other couples to celebrate an anniversary and it looks the same, feels the same and the food was the same and it&#39;s still going strong. Has to be good to survive and flourish for so many years.. Good, old fashioned Italian food. Mostly older people come and some on a regular basis. It&#39;s in the bottom of a 4 story condominium and the inside looks like a restaurant in NYC. It has that kind of atmosphere. The waiter knows the menu and the menu hasn&#39;t changed in forever. We shared 4 starters and then my husband and I shared a huge veal chop with fingerling potatoes. Others enjoyed their salmon, lamb chops and pasta. Desserts like panna cotta and cr&egrave;me brulee were done well and there was a good assortments of gelatos... If anything was wrong, it was the noise level which interfered with our conversation. And this was a Wednesday night. Would I recommend it? Yes.

The food was simply average for a place that claims to be one of the best. Additionally the portions were small and one of the few times I ever left an Italian Restaurant feeling still hungry. Maggianos down the street though a chain actually has better food. Needless to say we (8 of us) were all disappointed. The ambiance is nice, but to me they need to see how other Italian restaurants plate the food as to quality and quantity. Let Down by the amount paid. Will not return. the Doctor hit me with a helpful vote.

The main steak can really be beaten. After a few days of sour beef, the taste is super tender. It is delicious without sea salt and black pepper. [Call] The second place in my heart is the seafood platter and dessert combination. The meat of mantis shrimp is tight and fresh to the shrimp brain. Any dessert has surprises, the rest of the dishes that are super online may be the same as other western restaurants. The two-person package is still very good, maybe 2-3 people are similar.
