The Southern Gentleman is part of the resurgence of Buckhead at the Shoppes of Buckhead. Located above the Shake Shack, SG is a lively energized fun spot with an excellent bar and a fresh and modern food menu. It sort of a "foodie meets southern" cooking experience with a truly fantastic bourbon collection. You can get trout, venison and quail. Every combination of a protein with grits, all really great. It's very farm to table oriented. If you are looking for a steak, this may not be the place I would suggest. I am sure that their $45 new york strip is fantastic, but it is the only steak-steak that I saw on the menu and there are lot of other choices on the menu that are more in the $15-$25 range that are more unique and original. The thing I like the most about this restaurant and the Shoppes of Buckhead is the proximity to many great restaurants and bars. If you like going to one place for a cocktail, another place for dinner and then another place for something after diner or some live music, this is a location worth trying. I won't mention the other spots. Just look at any google map and it will show you the other places that are within walking distance Parking can be an issue if you haven't been to the Shoppes of Buckhead. We did valet parking. Cost was $7 plus tip. It's worth it. I don't think this is a very good place to bring children. There isn't anything for them to do or to eat and the tables and to close to each other for kids to be running around. So leave them at home. Our service was great too. This place is fun. I will definitely go again.
