🐼 Must-See Highlights
🐼 1️⃣ Giant Panda Conservation Centre
This is THE main attraction! Say hello to Xing Xing & Liang Liang, the superstars of the zoo. These two adorable fluff balls are the only pandas in Malaysia, and watching them munch on bamboo is worth the trip alone. Bonus: the exhibit is air-conditioned—a lifesaver on a hot day!
🦁 2️⃣ Big Cats & Predators
If you love powerful, majestic animals, this section is a must. Expect roaring lions, sleek tigers, and a leopard or two lurking in the shadows. Pro tip: Go during feeding time (around noon) for the best action!
🐍 3️⃣ Reptile House & Aquarium
Step into the world of the wild and weird—giant pythons, sneaky chameleons, and even crocodiles await. The aquarium section is small but features colorful fish and some really grumpy-looking turtles.
🦜 4️⃣ Bird Aviary & Free-Roaming Animals
One of the coolest parts? Some animals roam freely! Keep an eye out for flamingos, peacocks, and deer walking around as if they own the place. It’s like a mini safari in the middle of KL!
🐐 5️⃣ Petting Zoo – Fun for All Ages
A must-visit, especially for kids (or adults who love cute animals)! You can feed rabbits, goats, and ponies, making it one of the most interactive spots in the zoo.
🍔 Where to Eat?
Food inside is okay but pricey (think RM20 for a burger). If you want better options:
🍜 Restoran Al-Diafah – Amazing Arabic food, just a 10-min drive away.
🍛 Mak Jah Café – Cheap and delicious local food nearby.
🧃 Pro tip: Bring your own snacks & water! It gets hot, and trust me, you’ll be grateful for that extra drink.
💡 Final Thoughts – Worth the Visit?
✅ Best for: Families, animal lovers, and first-time visitors to KL.
❌ Skip if: You’re expecting a safari-style zoo (some enclosures feel a bit old-school).
⭐ Rating: 8.5/10 – Come for the pandas, stay for the wildlife, and leave with some great memories!
Very recommended for family and kids to visit, so many animal and had so much fun
went there last week and we got to see so many animal there. my nephew all like the animal. quite hot but its normal because outdoor so glad to come here. will repeat
The Malaysian National Zoo is in Kuala Lumpur. There are many animals that I have never seen or heard of every day. It gives me a very novel feeling. The animals inside are very close to the people, interesting, and there are performances to see. It is very suitable for bringing children to play for a long time.
Although the fare is high, you can stroll slowly, you can visit for most of the day, there is a restaurant inside, and the experience is good. Many animals are not related to the cage, and they can interact small. Fengyi and Fuwa of the Panda Hall have been sullen. Later, they knew that Fengyi was pregnant. Fuwa was also in a bad mood. They tried to communicate in Sichuan dialect. Fuwa moved and looked at it, and then lay down.
Zoo Negara Malaysia offers a wonderful experience for families and animal lovers. Located near Kuala Lumpur, the zoo is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, featuring a wide variety of animals from around the world. The highlight is the Giant Panda Conservation Centre, where visitors can see the adorable pandas up close. The open-concept enclosures, especially the Savannah Walk, provide a more natural habitat for the animals. Children will enjoy the petting zoo and interactive areas.
I had a wonderful time at Zoo Negara Malaysia! The open-concept design gives a natural and relaxing feel, and the spacious layout makes it enjoyable to explore. The big lake adds a beautiful, calming touch to the surroundings. The highlight for me was definitely seeing the pandas up close—it was such a rare and heartwarming experience. The zoo is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed for both visitors and animals.A great spot for a peaceful escape!
Surprise that they have quite a lot animals here. They even have panda and kangaroo. It's quite worth for the price to explore. If you are animal lover or have kids, good place to visit
