There was a monument on the 7th green road.

There was a monument on the 7th green road. Even though it is a square, it is not an open place like a park, but on an ordinary road. It's good to have an exchange.
I happened to find it on the enclosure from a hotel near the city hall to Tokiwa Park. It is a monument to the friendship city. It may be a little nice if tourists from Yujino Sakhalinsk see it.
Monument of sister city friendship city before and after

7 Along the green road. Yujino Sakhalinsk is the former Sakhalin capital of Sakhalin, Russia. Asahikawa is like a friendly city and sister city with Harbin (China), Suwon (Korea), Bloomington, and Normal (Illinois, USA), and monuments are placed at each intersection. In 1967, Asahikawa was the first Japanese city to become a friendly city in Yujino Sakhalinsk, and then Hakodate and Wakkanai have been connected to a friendly city.
I found this square and stone monument while walking along the Shichijo Ryodo. There were other friendly sister cities, but this is the largest introduction in the center of the green road. Last year marks the 50th anniversary, various ceremonies and exchange meetings were held. It seems that a new flower bed symbolizing friendship was also newly created. Do you build trust and profit through mutual exchanges?
Not a place to go sightseeing, but it might be good for a walk

It is located in a corner of the 7th Green Road near Asahikawa City Hall. The green road is a road that intersects the pedestrian paradise shopping park, and trees 々 and sculptures are lined up in the pedestrian space. If you go straight from the city hall, you will reach Tokiwa Park. It may be a good walk course in the hot summer and early morning. However, citizens often use cars and do not walk on this road very much. Depending on the time of day and time, it is a little dim and there are no people, so I think the atmosphere is not good ...

I found it on my way out.
