Barton Springs Municipal Pool

If you are not from the south, it can get really hot in Texas in the summer. I always recommend people who are not from the city to take a dip in Barton Hot Springs. It is funny because... people are not prepared for how cold Barton Hot Springs actually is. They usually don't realize there is algae and slime on the bottom until they step into the hot springs. Topless is allowed, which is always a surprise if you are not expecting it! Topless bathing is a cheap place to bring your kids when it gets really hot outside. You can bring blankets and floaties. Kids also have the option to explore the shallow end of the pool where they can splash around. Bring cash for parking and entrance fees, and remember, no cooling devices!
