The most intuitive place to feel the wealth of the Thai royal family is the Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is the palace of the Thai royal family. It was built in 1782 and has been expanded and renovated by generations of kings to its current scale. The Grand Palace has obvious Siamese architectural features, it is magnificent and has national characteristics, and it is called the 'encyclopedia of Thai art'.
In 1992, the Thai government funded the construction of the Thai Buddha Garden in Luoyang White Horse Temple, which is a condensed essence of Thai architecture represented by the Bangkok Grand Palace.
The Grand Palace covers a huge area and includes two parts for touring: the Jade Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace. The tourist entrance is at the Jade Buddha Temple.
🇹🇭Jade Buddha Temple
Named after the jade Buddha enshrined in the temple, the temple is located in the northeast corner of the Grand Palace, about a quarter of the size of the Grand Palace. It is one of the three national treasures of Thailand, the guardian temple of the Chakri Dynasty, and the national temple.
The jade Buddha is enshrined in the main hall, it is carved from real jade, 66 cm high and 48 cm wide. It was a treasure that was fought over by many countries. After being discovered in Chiang Rai in 1434, it has been enshrined in the Jade Buddha Temple.
There are seven pairs of fairy statues on the high platform of the Jade Buddha Temple. The upper body of the lioness fairy is a woman, and the lower body is a lion; the upper body of the golden Nara is a man, and the lower body is a bird.
Each door in the temple has a six-meter-high guardian Yaksha, holding a Dharma sword, which is very spectacular.
There are also three pagodas to the north of the main hall: a pure Thai-style scripture library, a Sri Lankan-style golden relic pagoda, and a royal ancestral temple built by Rama IV.
The model of Angkor Wat is a collection of Rama III, and you can still see the appearance of Angkor Wat when it was complete from this huge model.
There are 178 paintings in the corridor of the Jade Buddha Temple, which were painted during the period of Rama I, telling a mythological story of good people defeating bad people.
🇹🇭Grand Palace
The main building is four palaces, with the roof in the Thai characteristic three-top structure, lined up in a row, with green ceramic tile ridges, purple and red glazed tile roofs, and pointed phoenix head flying eaves. But these main buildings are not open to the public.
Chakri Palace is the largest main hall in the Grand Palace, with three floors, built by Rama V in 1876. The initial design was a Western-style building, but because it felt a bit abrupt among a group of Thai buildings, a traditional Thai roof was added later.

The text guide is humorous and humorous, the architectural characteristics, historical background and visiting precautions are introduced, and the time for free activities is also arranged, and the overall itinerary is 1.5-2 hours. The Grand Palace is still worth visiting as one of the must-visit attractions in Bangkok! If you travel by subway, you have to walk about 15 minutes to the entrance and meeting point. The weather is hot and test people. If you take a taxi, it is recommended to hurry up because it is really blocked!
Ctrip directly bought the Grand Palace + Jade Buddha Temple + Chinese explanation pass (the tour guide is Thai, but the Chinese is still very good, can understand). I didn't arrive at the meeting point according to the specified time. I originally planned to visit freely, but Trip.com's service was still very intimate. I arranged for a tour guide to pick us up (but this is still not advocated for being late). After all, the Grand Palace is a famous attraction, you can still go to see and feel the luxury life of the Thai king!
make sure to check their website for any dress code guidelines. It's important to dress modestly when entering the palace
The Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand. This palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. I found it interesting to learn that Thailand was called Siam until 1939. This palace is very detailed. It’s amazing how many people walk through this beautiful setting on a daily basis.
The Grand Palace is one of the place that you should came when you visit Bangkok. This palace is located near the Iconsiam, you can easily access here by their boat. Here, you can try their traditional costume and took photo at the Grand Palace.
Chinese explanation is a little old tour guide, very dedicated and professional, Chinese pronunciation is also good 👍 hot days, there are many tourists, the tour guide takes everyone to stop and stop, patiently explain. We also listen carefully and understand the culture. Because the Zhengwang Temple has been there, only some photos of the Grand Palace (including the guide's explanation) are displayed here. If you visit the Grand Palace, the Zhengwang Temple or the Reclining Buddha Temple, it is best to ask the Chinese guide to explain, so that the play is more meaningful.
