Beijing Zoo Babysitter-Level Guide: See All the "Top Celebrities" in One Day
For those bringing kids to Beijing or looking to cuddle cute animals, promise me you won’t wander aimlessly around Beijing Zoo anymore!
This "animal paradise" hidden in the city center is not only a nostalgic blast from the childhood of the post-80s and 90s generations but also a trendy check-in spot now—over 1,000 adorable animals on display, with Menglan and the red pandas delivering nonstop cuteness. Follow this guide to avoid detours and queues, and see all the top stars!
Beijing Zoo is definitely the "king of cost performance," with tickets so cheap they’re touching your heart, yet packed with many surprising highlights.
· First, you must lock in the Panda House, home to the "top celebrity" Menglan. Watch it perform fancy escapes, eat, and act cute to heal all your bad moods. It’s best to visit in the morning to avoid crowds and capture clear shots of Menglan’s iconic moments;
· Next is the Red Panda House, where the fluffy little bundles come with natural blush on their cheeks and run like little foxes. Who wouldn’t say "my heart just melted" after seeing them? Also, the Ocean Pavilion (requires separate ticket) features an underwater tunnel that’s cinematic, with beluga whales and dolphin shows that give you goosebumps—loved by both adults and kids;
· Besides these, golden monkeys, giraffes, zebras, lions, and tigers are all on display, making a round trip here like traveling the "animal world," with new surprises at every step.

✅ Stroller: Available for rent inside the park, ¥30/day (left side after entering South Gate)
✅ Food: Bring snacks! Restaurant lines inside are scary
✅ Feeding: No feeding allowed! But there is an official feeding experience in the park (¥20/time)
🚇 Transportation is super convenient, whether you’re with kids or friends, easy direct access:
· Subway: Top choice! Take Line 4 or Line 16 to Zoo Station, exit at D, then a 3-minute walk straight to South Gate—no detours, perfectly avoids traffic jams;
· Bus: Take routes 27, 87, 105, etc., to the "Zoo" stop, right at the park entrance, good for those who want to avoid crowded subways;
· Driving: Not recommended! Very few parking spots around the park, and traffic jams on holidays will make you question life. Green travel is more worry-free.
⭐ One more reminder: on holidays, be sure to arrive early! Panda House and Ocean Pavilion often have queues. Tickets can be bought in advance on Trip.com to skip the line and save time and hassle~
Other visitors' reviews of Beijing Zoo
Show More ReviewsI went there for the Xizhimen Third Prince (a cat breed). But I couldn't get up early. By the time I arrived it was almost noon. I queued for an hour to get in and saw Menglan's back as she ate bamboo for three minutes before going in. But there were many cats at the Beijing Zoo. Looking at other cats like Pangdahai and Meng'er was also nice. Go
