Memorial Hall of Guomoruo

Guo Moruo's former residence is located at No. 18, Qianhai Houyan, Xicheng District, Beijing. It covers an area of 7,000 square meters. It was originally the horse of the Qing Dynasty Gongfu. Guo Moruo lived here from 1963 to 1978. It was officially opened to the public in 1988 and renamed "Guo Moruo Memorial Hall" in 1994.

Beijing Guo Moruo's former residence, now the Guo Moruo Memorial Hall, is located at No. 18 Qianhai West Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, east of Shichahai, south of Beihai Park Jingzhai. The memorial hall covers an area of 7,000 square meters, with a construction area of 2280 square meters. The gate sits west and east. The gate "Guo Moruo's former residence" was written by Deng Yingchao in September 1982. The former location of the Guo Moruo Memorial Hall was formerly the Wangfu Garden of Hexuan in the Qing Dynasty. After Hexuan was copied, the garden was abandoned. During the same period, it became Prince Gong's grass farm and stable. During the Republic of China, Prince Gong's descendants sold the place to Darentang Lejia Pharmacy as a house. After the founding of New China, it was first the embassy of the Mongolian People's Republic in China, and then Comrade Soong Qingling lived. Guo Moruo moved in from No. 5 Hutong, West Four Courtyard, in 1963, and died in June 1978, spending the last 15 years of his life here.
