Where: Beijing When: August 2019 This temple is the combination of Han Chinese and Tibetan styles. It is one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in China. It was the tallest Buddhist temple in Qing dynasty. Nowadays the temple is attractive with it’s rich colors and variety of buildings. A ticket costs 25 rmb. They started to build it more than 300 years ago. The temple is not so large, you can walk around 40 min.-1 hour. Whilst it can get crowded with people buying bracelets to be blessed by the monks, if you go further into the complex, there are spaces which are very quiet and good for reflection. One of the highlights of our trip was seeing the huge wooden statue of Buddha in one of the halls which is an impressive sight.

Yong He Gong aka 雍和宫 which is located in the capital of People's Republic of China Beijing and which is considered one of the best preserved Lama or Lamaism Buddhism temples outside if Tibet. Without any exaggerations, this temple is a unique germ in a Beijing cultural heritage necklace. Yong He Temple possesses very rare artifacts which could not be found anywhere else and therefore representing the difference between lamaism and other studied and giving the picture of Lama doctrine. The architectural style was found topical for Lama Temple planning in Tibet. At the same time the temple is commemorating the memory of Qing Dynasty emperor for which glory sake it was established. Hi, everyone! Today I would like to introduce one of the most impressive Buddha stature I saw during my trip in Beijing. At first, we are in Yong He Gong Lamaist monastery in the heart of Beijing City, Dongcheng district. Yong He Gong has a lot of artifacts but this one is really impressive, just mind shocking! Very tall solid Buddha stature created from bronze! It has no parts, it was moulded as it is during the Qing dynasty for the sake of those days emperor glory and popularization of Buddhism as the marketing guys could say now. Immense Buddha is dressed in very clean and beautiful clothes looks like watching you from a high altitude with a little smile. The Yonghe Temple, also known as Lamas Temple, is a Tibetan Buddhist temple and monastery in downtown Beijing. If you have a few hours to spare in Beijing, take a didi to the temple. Like entering an ancient bubble inside the busy city, transporting you from Beijing to Tibet in a few steps. From the smell of incense, gorgeous artwork in every structure, and peaceful ambience, you will feel in close connection with your soul. The guardian lion statue in the entrance will lead your way in. Take your time to admire the different architectural designs and artwork. You might see some similarities between the buildings’ paint designs in the temple and those ones in Forbidden City. This temple dates from Qing dynasty, with a very reach history that includes the residence and tomb of Yongzheng emperor to the site of armed revolt against Chinese nationalist government in 1929. After the civil war, remained closed for 32 year til is reopened in 1981.
