It was once the garden of Wanyuan, the famous summer palace, with countless treasures, and the architecture blends the western ocean and traditional Chinese architecture, which has a high ornamental value. In winter, here is ice play, summer, boating on the Fuhai Sea, spring, flowers and willows, and the scenery is pleasant. Even walking between the burned-out ruins of the Great Water Law, you can experience the vicissitudes and heavyness of a century-old history, which is impressive and proud of today's harmonious society and the national security of the country.
Beautiful but crazy busy! My sister and I went during the Labour Day holiday. as expected, all tourist attractions were overcrowded but manageable, however this particular place was too crowded. The paths are quite narrow so we felt it more. Nevertheless this place is supper worth it. Lots of water and greenery around, with some old ruins.
Was lucky enough to go on a sunny day that was not crowded! Mid-morning is best, and it’s good to spend at least 2 hours here. Easy by ride share or subway/walk. There’s a lot of history, and the site is massive in terms of ruins and unkept landscape. Perfect April-September.
