This is definitely time to get to Salhus from Bergen! The museum is fascinating and the tour narrator is friendly and can do the tour in bilingual as my Norwegian is not the strongest. The gift shop has a lot of beautiful items - very special yarns (the yarns are produced near Hillesvg and then tied up on museum machines!) gorgeous garland books, lovely hand-woven and non-woven items, and interesting concepts and accessories. There are also delicious waffles and jam in the cafe, which will strengthen your defenses before you rush back to Bergen by bus! Even if weaving is not what you really want, take the time to go here, as it's interesting to learn just the history of the area and how all this has surrounded the museum's once-factory.
