You can make a reservation to climb the tower and overlook the entire Piazza Maggiore. MAMbo (Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna) As Morandi's hometown, this art museum houses Morandi's works donated to the city by Morandi's sister, and is the world's largest collection of Morandi's works. Excited on the first day, feeling like this city is destined for me, but bored on the second day ✨The attractions in Bologna are almost all concentrated around Piazza Maggiore in the old town, including the Fountain of Neptune, the Municipal Library, the Basilica of San Petronio, the Archiginnasio of Bologna, and the Two Towers and the Cathedral of San Stefano, which are just a few steps away. All of these are free to visit. ✏Tips: The world's first human anatomy laboratory is inside the Archiginnasio, which requires a ticket, but it's only 3 euros, and you can also visit the library. Even if you're not interested in the laboratory, just visiting the Archiginnasio's cloister and the dazzling coat of arms designs on the walls will make your trip worthwhile. ✨The Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca overlooks Bologna. It's 3 km from the city center, and walking up from the foot of the mountain is the way to go because it has a long corridor supported by 666 arches, giving you a sense of mission. But if the weather is bad and you don't want to torture yourself, you can take the No. 58 minibus up, which takes 20 minutes to go up the mountain and 10 minutes to go down in a straight line. ✏Tips: Bologna's buses can be paid with a chip card, which is very convenient. ✨The August 8th Open Market will show you another side of refined Europe, with a plethora of second-hand clothes and some Yiwu goods. If you're not going to the train station or bus station, there's no need to go there. The old town's commercial street is full of brands, and fast fashion brands are all on sale. I even bought a camisole for 1.99 euros. 🤷

I Spent a weekend in Bologna with only 1 real day to explore the city and after walking about 15 miles I was knackered but I wanted to visit a view point this was one of the top google search results and now I can see why €10 entry per person but well worth it great view over the city and entry to the art gallery included I booked for about 5 pm (which was close to sunset when I was there in November) if you want to visit make sure to book online as unfortunately they do not take walk in visits

In the afternoon, I visited the Archiginnasio, once the main building of the University of Bologna, and admired its frescoed halls and wooden anatomy theatre. Later, I relaxed in the peaceful Giardini Margherita, where locals were enjoying the warm spring sun. Bologna’s charm lies not only in its sights but also in its everyday life — authentic, welcoming, and rich with flavor.
