It was a trip to Bruges, Belgium. We visited many places such as Market Square. The heart of Bruges, Markt Square is surrounded by historic buildings, including the Belfry of Bruges. The square has been a central marketplace since 958. 📍Markt, 8000 Bruges, Belgium. We climbed the to Belfry of Bruges for panoramic views, admired the Provincial Court, and explored the surrounding streets filled with shops and cafes. 💰€14 for the Belfry We also visited the Basilica of the Holy Blood. A 12th-century chapel that houses a venerated relic, believed to be the blood of Jesus Christ. We admired the architecture, and see the relic of the Holy Blood. 📍Burg 13, 8000 Bruges, Belgium. 💰Free to enter, but donations are appreciated. We then had lunch at “Den Dyver”. They serve mainly Belgian Cuisine. We ordered Flemish beef stew (Carbonnade Flamande), mussels with fries, Waterzooi (a creamy fish), and Belgian waffles for dessert 🧇 📍Dijver 5, 8000 Bruges, Belgium. 💰€20-€35 per main course. We then explored The Beguinage (Begijnhof). It was founded in the 13th century, this peaceful enclave was home to a religious community of women. It's now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We walked around the serene courtyard, visited the museum, and enjoyed the tranquility. 📍Wijngaardstraat, 8000 Bruges, Belgium. We also stopped by the Groeninge museum. This museum houses a fine collection of Flemish and Belgian paintings, including works by Jan van Eyck and Hans Memling. Last but not least, I would alsp recommend you to check out tge restaurant, De Halve Maan Brewery. My final stop in Belgium was Bruges, and without a doubt, it became my favorite city of the trip. The Market Square, surrounded by colorful historic buildings and the towering Belfry of Bruges, was the perfect place to start exploring. The sound of horse-drawn carriages and the smell of fresh waffles in the air made it feel like a fairytale scene. 🚤 Canal Cruising Through History One of the best ways to take in Bruges is by boat, so I hopped on a canal tour. Drifting past stone bridges, ivy-covered houses, and hidden courtyards, I saw why Bruges is called the "Venice of the North." Every turn revealed something beautiful, making it one of the most magical travel experiences I've had. 🏛 Charming Streets & Secret Spots Bruges is perfect for wandering without a plan. I strolled through quiet streets, found hidden courtyards, and stopped by the peaceful Begijnhof, a centuries-old monastery that felt like a step back in time. 🍫 Waffles, Chocolate & Belgian Beer No visit to Belgium is complete without indulging in the local food, and Bruges was the best place for it. It’s a very chilly and rainy morning but we still made it to the city of Bruges! There’s a long walk of beautiful greeneries before you can actually reach Bruge. And before that, there’s the Lovers’ Bridge! Bruge itself is a huge circle, so it’s easy to walk anywhere. It has many canals here lined up with medieval houses and it’s also dubbed as the “Venice of the North”. Due to the amount of canals, there’s also many “canal tours” one can partake in, there will be a guide to tell you about the history of Bruge as you traverse from canal to canal. #belgium #Bruge The main attraction here is the Belfry of Bruges. There’s also many churches to visit like The Church of Our Lady and Basilica of Holy Blood. Do give Bruge a visit and you will be in awe at its beautiful architectures.
