Cambridge is not just about King's College; this one is more enjoyable to explore and worth the ticket price
In Cambridge, many people's first thought is to visit King's College. But if you're looking for a college that is "beautiful, easy to explore, not tiring, and cost-effective," I highly recommend Trinity College.
It is one of the largest and wealthiest colleges in Cambridge, yet the visiting experience is surprisingly comfortable.
🎫 The ticket price is more budget-friendly compared to King's College, but the content is just as rich.
As soon as you enter the college, you step into a very spacious courtyard. The scale of the architecture is grand but not overwhelming. The first impression is: "This is truly a place for living and studying," not just a tourist spot.
Following the route inside, you will reach the famous Great Court — one of the most iconic scenes in Cambridge:
Surrounded by symmetrically designed ancient buildings, with a neatly trimmed lawn in the center, it is quiet, clean, and very "British."
Continuing further, you arrive at Trinity College’s real highlight:
🌳 The riverside garden + views along the River Cam.
This is almost one of the best places in Cambridge for a stroll. Unlike King's College, it’s not crowded with tourists, so you can walk, take photos, and daydream at your leisure.
📐 The architectural details are also very captivating—from stone carvings to window frames, from arches to cloisters, it’s the kind of college that grows on you the more you look.
Many people don’t know:
🧠 Newton, Bacon, and Turing all came from here.
But Trinity College’s greatness isn’t just about having many famous names; it’s about the real feeling that this is a place that has long produced great scholars.
The whole visit flows very comfortably:
Entrance → Courtyard → Great Court → Riverside Garden → Slowly back to the exit
🕰 About 1.5 hours, with no rush and no fatigue.
If you want to pick a college in Cambridge that is:
✔️ Not crowded
✔️ Very British
✔️ Easy to explore
✔️ And quite affordable
Then I would seriously say: Trinity College is more worth visiting than many "trendy" colleges.
