The John Hancock Center is a place you can visit by appointment. Group tours in Chicago generally do not include activities in this place, but you can stop by here when you are traveling on your own to get to know some of the characteristics of American architecture and culture.
The John Hancock Center is located on the side of Michigan Avenue in Chicago, also known as "Chicago 360°". Completed in 1969, it was the tallest skyscraper in the world outside New York at that time. Standing on the 94th floor and looking out, the field of vision will reach 128 kilometers, and the four states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin have a panoramic view. 1. Tour Guide The John Hancock Center is now the third tallest building in Chicago and the fourth tallest building in the United States. It was designed by structural engineer Fazle Khan. There is an observation deck on the 94th floor of the building and a restaurant on the 95th floor with views of Chicago and Lake Michigan. The 44th floor features an all-American indoor pool. The John Hancock Center is currently a member of the World Federation of Tall Towers, and has received numerous awards for its distinctive architecture, including the 25-Year Achievement Award from the American Institute of Architects in May 1999. 2. We took a city sightseeing bus. After we climbed the tower (booked sightseeing tickets online for a better deal), we ordered a drink at the bar (reasonable price is key) and looked out at the view. We spent 2 hours there. Although we didn't have the courage to try to look out from the sky, it was still quite interesting to watch others (especially the brave young people) do this. Everyone had a different expression.
If the Sears Tower represents the structural system of traditional buildings, then the Hancock Center represents the perfect expansion of contemporary architecture. As a famous representative of super-high-rise buildings, it has inherited the mantle of the Chicago School.
The Hancock Building is on the edge of Lake Michigan, one side is the skyline and the other side is the lake. During the day, you can see the blue water, unlike Sears' observation deck, looking around in the center. The upper observation deck overlooks the beings, and the lower observation deck returns to the beings. From dusk to sunset, this situation is very suitable for listening to the early sunset
After reading everyone's comments, John Hancock Center is a must to go, choose to eat directly on the 95th floor to see the scenery, there are buffets and orders, the ingredients are fresh and delicious, steak, fish, shrimp, crab, dessert, ice cream, etc., the price is reasonable, per capita 50-60$. The scenery is beautiful, it is a lot of fun, because Willis Building has to queue up, and after three days, the 95th floor is delicious again, huh...
Hancock Building 97th floor (should remember correctly) 360Chicago, there is also a glass box that can be tilted to the electric control to see the scenery below, the panoramic view of Chicago, the weather is better when the weather is good, summer and night especially!
John Hancock Center actually looks a little like Willis Tower. There is a restaurant on the 95th floor (The Signature Room at the 95th). It is a different elevator from the observation deck. If you go to the restaurant, you can go up without tickets. The price of a cocktail is similar to the cost of the observation deck. You can both eat and enjoy the 360 panoramic view of Chicago. It's pretty good. Listening to the tour guide, the female bathroom of Signature Room has a large floor-to-ceiling window, and the view of Chicago through there is very good.
The John Hancock Center is Chicago’s third tallest building, located at the north end of Michigan Avenue, and is easy to find. The building, like the Willis Building, is open to the public and overlooks the panoramic view of Chicago due to its observation deck. But the building is not as famous as Willis, and most visitors will choose Willis, so the queue is long. Relatively speaking, there are not many tourists to the building, and there is almost no queue to go up the observation deck (at least during the day). The observation deck of the building is on the 94th floor. Although there is no Willis Building observation deck, it is closer to Lake Michigan and the viewing effect is very good. The 95th floor of the building is a restaurant. If you go to the restaurant to eat, you can waive $15 sightseeing tickets, so eating here is actually not expensive.
