It takes approximately seven minutes to spin around the 150-foot-high Ferris wheel at Chicago’s Navy Pier. The attraction was modeled after the world’s very first Ferris wheel, built for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Spectacular views can be had at its apex, enjoyed by up to six passengers per gondola.
During poor weather and winter conditions the outdoor sections of the pier are closed to the public.
