The long queues and disappointing experience of the Chongqing Two Rivers Cruise are a microcosm of "magical reality." People flock there because "a trip to Chongqing isn't complete without seeing the night view"—the confluence of the two rivers, the stilted buildings of Hongyadong, and the Raffles Sea Cruise offer a unique perspective from the water, a visual asset difficult to replicate. However, once on board, the crowded decks, rigid sales pitches, obstructed views, and exorbitant upgrade fees instantly diminish the initial anticipation, leaving it as "nothing special." Two hours of queuing for one hour of sailing often results in noise rather than immersion. Ultimately, people queue for a world-class night view, but the "mediocre" experience exposes a mismatch between service and demand. When the beauty of the hardware outweighs the quality of the service, queuing becomes a futile pilgrimage.
