Finally back from Chongqing
Preface: In Chongqing, take a taxi if you can, and don't skimp because it's cheap. The real test for your legs starts at the attractions. Don't worry about not walking enough, just wandering around any site will rack up thousands of steps.
Day1: Arrived at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at noon, the airport taxi stand has approximate distances and corresponding prices so you don't have to worry about being ripped off, just take one straight away. After dropping off the luggage at the hotel, headed straight to Guanyin Street, took a photo at the internet-famous check-in spot on the sky bridge, and then it was all about eating, eating, and more eating—lotus root slices, bobo chicken, fried potatoes, thumb-sized pan-fried buns, crispy meat, Sichuan dumplings, Peking duck, etc., couldn't stop. After a full meal, strolled around the nearby mall, and then had dinner at Kaojiang Spicy Grilled Fish (Beicheng Tianjie), lots of locals were queuing up. In the evening, took a taxi to Chongqing Grand Theatre to see the most beautiful night view of Hongya Cave, and enjoyed the evening breeze of Jialing River beside Qiansimen Bridge. Other than the crowds, it was just crowded.
Day2: Took a taxi straight to Chongqing Zoo^, how could I miss the zoo with the most giant pandas in the country. Remember to go early, otherwise, it's packed with people after 10 am. After seeing the pandas, went to eat local Chongqing cuisine at Shancheng Shifu^, generous portions, delicious and cheap. Be cautious with the devil frog, it's so spicy it'll make your head smoke. In the afternoon, walked down the Shancheng Trail^, definitely start from the top and go down. (No need to see the air-raid shelter, it's a waste of legs and there's nothing to see) There's also a variety of food and drinks along the way. In the evening, just found a small local restaurant to fill up and then went for a leg massage to relax.
Day3: In the morning, went to the city center to check out Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street^, had lunch at nearby Zhou Xiaoming Hotpot·Shijijianghu (Jiefangbei Store)^, then walked all the way to Chongqing Eighteen Ladders Traditional Style Area^, after exploring, took the Two Rivers Ferry to Danzishi Old Street from Hongya Cave^, kept walking and walking, Longmenhao Old Street along the way is worth visiting, and walked all the way to Changjiang Cableway^ back to Yuzhong. (Be sure to book in advance, the queue can be thousands of people, the experience is not very good, it's okay not to take it). For dinner, had Xiba Shu Gold Coin Beef Tripe Skewers (Guanyin Bridge Store)^, just a few cents per skewer. After a full meal, went to Beicheng Tianjie for a couple of drinks to experience Chongqing's nightlife, and the next day woke up naturally, had a bowl of Chongqing noodles, bought some local products, packed up, and flew to Shanghai.
Summary: There's no need to visit every internet-famous spot, just do what feels comfortable. Chongqing's spiciness is not as intense as imagined, and mild spiciness is generally acceptable. Ate a lot, saw a lot in three days and nights, just felt sorry for those tired old legs.
Shancheng Lane is a net red attraction created in Yuzhong District. It has the characteristics of mountain city alleys. Finding the taste of childhood memories and old mountain cities.... The net red attractions that must be punched in Chongqing for tourism!
Chongqing is really a very magical city. The mountain city trail is also more challenging, equivalent to climbing the mountain, there are scenery all the way, there are food, there are drinks, and there are school museums.
it’s best place to enjoy the ancient town and to observe the whole city view from one point. Reasons to Recommend:Highly recommend because it’s very beautiful and breathtaking. ♥️♥️♥️
I actually like it very much, the night view on the mountainside is particularly beautiful. The integration of dining, entertainment and cultural innovation here is very good.
The trail refers to the city trail that can only be walked. As we all know, Chongqing is a mountain city. Unlike most cities, the alleys in Chongqing have little flat road, mostly composed of uphill steps, which is what the locals say. According to statistics from the housing and construction department, there are 57 more mature trails in Chongqing. Tourists generally go to the mountain city trail to check in. The exact name should be the third trail of the mountain city, and it is also a section of the roundabout trail. The third trail is located on the southern slope of Yuzhong District, about three kilometers long, built along the river, along the Nanjimen ridge all the way up, you can lead to Ren'aitang, and then through Gulou Lane, Consul Lane, you can go to the gun dam, Tongyuanmen, it is an important road connecting the upper and lower half of the city in the old time, and there are many ancient buildings along the way. You can check in. There are many strategies on the Internet. The regular line is entered from the entrance of Zhongxing Road Trail. The whole journey is uphill. There is also a whole downhill route starting from Consul Alley. I chose to enter from Shancheng Alley, walk around the mountain for half a circle, and return to Tongyuanmen. It feels very good. Shancheng Lane is the only century-old lane named after the mountain city in Chongqing, built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In 1900, French missionaries lit up the pole on the slope of this lane for passers-by lighting, hence the name Tiandeng Lane, Tiandeng Street, in 1972 renamed Shancheng Lane. Hou Yu was built in the 1930s, belonging to the typical Shanghai Shikumen architectural style, from a side reflects the history of Chongqing as a companion during the period of the War of Resistance. The building masonry structure, stone door frame, eight-shaped facing door, curved window, stone house base, built on slope, is the typical representative of the main city of Chongqing mountain building. The suspended plank road built on the steep wall is a good place to view the river view. From here, the sight is suddenly bright, the Yangtze River, the bridge, and the opposite Nanping...Unobstructed. Opposite is the Nanjimen Railway Bridge, which is very beautiful to take pictures. A hundred meters forward, I saw the pavilion sitting on the plank road, and I went to Jintangmen. Like Nanjimen, there is no city gate, only the city wall. The walls on the cliffs were still strong, but every other section there were old trees, or poking out of the gap, growing up desperately, or with long roots, wrapped a section of the wall, or a stone, showing the vitality of the vigorous. Because I came earlier, the small shop and old building next to it did not open, but so I can enjoy the entire mountain city trail. The supporting facilities of the mountain city trail are still very complete. Walk one or two hundred meters. There will be road signs on the ground and walls. There are special attractions nearby. There are also commentary cards. The whole line is down. There is no need to ask others for directions at all. It is very suitable for a person to come to citywalk. I walked from Shancheng Lane to Tongyuanmen, stopped and took pictures, it took about an hour and a half, both exercising, and familiar with the style of Chongqing, not very tired, down the mountain in the Hula noodle restaurant opposite the Tongyuanmen city wall, ate a bowl of small noodles, packed things to the airport, Draw a complete end to the trip to Chongqing, happy. After the store opens during the day, the playability here will be stronger. It is said that the night view at night will be more beautiful. If you have two hours of leisure time in Chongqing, I recommend everyone to come and take a look.
Chongqing Mountain City Trail is a walking city trail, located in the south slope of the Yuzhong Peninsula, from north to south, passing through the city Zhongshan Hospital (former Kuomintang government legislation, judicial house), anti-jiantang, Bodhi King Kong Tower, French Ren'aitang old site, hanging plank road, etc., the total length is 1748 meters. The mountain city trail has many steps up and down, which is what the locals say. The mountain city trail is a unique way of travel in Chongqing, and it is the unique culture of mountain city Chongqing.
