The Los Angeles Convention Center with almost one million square feet of floor space in the southwest portion of downtown L.A. is one of the biggest convention centers in the country. The center was opened in 1971 and has been renovated twice since then. The LACC plays host to national acts and conferences throughout the year. The highlight of the center are perhaps the two stone inlaid maps in the lobbies. With a total area of about 140,000 square feet.
