Arguably Shanghai's most-famous tourist attraction, the Bund is a waterfront promenade and famous business district in central Shanghai. Historically, the Bund was the city’s main financial and trading center, and was located within the Shanghai International Settlement, an area under nominal British control between 1843 and 1941. The walking areas extend roughly 1.6 km along the west bank of the Huangpu River. Owing to its historic status and zoning restrictions, the Bund contains fantastic examples of classic Shanghai architecture. For this reason, it is a popular spot for photography, offering the best views across the river to Shanghai’s modern skyline in Lujiazui. No visit to Shanghai would be complete without a visit to the Bund.

Finally took the time to watch suki's photography exhibition!
I miss the mountains and rivers that my girl and I have climbed together, the beaches that we have traveled together, and the campuses that we have walked together.
Three years apart from my girl, we will finally meet again next summer!
Every girl under the lens is a flowing poem. Something soft inside was poked.
This is about life, about passion. An exhibition about tenderness and strength.
The Bund (外滩) is Shanghai's most popular place with it's colonial buildings and skyscraper views.
The Bund stretches for 1.5 km from just north of Waibaidu Bridge along the western bank of the Huangpu river following Zhongshan Road southwards to Yan’an East Road.
The highlights of the Bund are undoubtedly the colonial-era buildings lining the west side of Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu, standouts of which include the British Consulate, Customs House, former Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, Waldorf Astoria Hotel and the Peace Hotel.
I loved to walk there in the afternoon and enjoy that incredible view, but I also suggest to go there after dark, when the buildings and promenade are romantically illuminated.
The nearest subway to The Bund is East Nanjing Road Station. There are also ferry boats and an under-river pedestrian tunnel that connect The Bund with Pudong.

This weekend we go for a walk on the Pudong Riverside Avenue. I saw many petty bourgeoisie restaurants with beautiful flowers planted in the grass. There is also the Shanghai Yacht Club next to it. There are not many people, the air is good, and I feel very comfortable. On the same day, there was a light show for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. We took the ferry to the 16th Pier, and then walked to the clock tower to watch the light show. Although it was crowded, the light show it was really shocking. Lujiazui and the Bund under the lights are exceptionally beautiful, and the limited-time scenery is worth remembering. It is a pity that it rained a bit that day, and the fog covered more than half of the Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Center, which affected some effects, but the overall situation was still very good.
Every time I visit Shanghai most of my evenings will be in and around this area. Both day and night holds its own beauty and elegance 🌃🌇. Since this is one of the happening place in Shanghai you can expect how much crowded will it be. There are lots of hotels having a good bund view rooms and many rooftop restaurants. If you prefer some calm environment to enjoy the view these will be a better option.
