This beautiful pearl is located 31 kilometers outside LiJiang, inside Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. This is an absolute must see place. Because it s so popular it can be a little bit crowded, but you can still enjoy in 4 hour hike around like (or more if you like 😁). Coming to Blue Moon Valley, you can take a bus, or taxi (80ish RMB for a ride). After that you have to buy bus ticket 20rmb per person that takes you first to three cable cars lines : Glacier cable car, Yak meadow cable car and Yunshanping cable car. We visited Yunshanping where is beautiful grass field, and you have wonderful view on mountains and forest. After that there is a bus that takes you to blue moon valley. Also known as Yulong Snow Mountain, this is a stunning area of natural beauty This area is located only 15km North of the Northern part of Liljiang, tickets cost 230RMB to enter However, we chose to visit as part of a tour and here is why… - This area is subject to windy conditions, when we visited the cableway to the top was delayed by an hour due to weather. Without a tour guide we would not have understood what was happening - This area is extremely large, mini electric cars and tour buses are used to shuttle people to different scenic areas - There were many different buses to take you to different sections, by staying with a group it ensured we got to see everything without getting on the wrong bus! - Meet new people! We met some great people on our tour who also helped with translation and explain what was happening at different times #lakes

After getting off the cable car at 4500.6 meters, there is still a distance to the summit at 4680 meters, which requires climbing a staircase of more than 1800 steps with an altitude difference of 100 meters. Take a breath of oxygen every three or four steps. Climb the snow mountain slowly, rest when you feel a bit out of breath, and avoid sudden and intense movements, as this can easily cause altitude sickness. Keep a steady pace when climbing. Don't sit down immediately when resting, and especially don't squat, as it can easily lead to oxygen deficiency! It takes about 30 minutes to reach the summit, but do it according to your capacity! The season i recommend to visit is autumn or spring as the atsmostphere is clean and good for taking photos. You should not wander around too long on the mountain peak, the bottom is so much better.
