What travelers say:

Asokaramaya is a Buddhist temple located in the south of Colombo. Asoka is the name of a tree and also refers to King Ashoka. This temple was built to commemorate King Ashoka sending his son to Sri Lanka to promote the Dharma. The Bodhi tree brought from Bodhgaya has long been It grows into a towering old tree with luxuriant branches. There are Buddha's footprints, exquisite murals and statues in the temple, which are very unique in style. (It was restored after being damaged, and the decorative mural on the top of the corridor is new.) Please take off your shoes and hats when you enter the museum. Shooting inside is not prohibited. When I met my grandfather the administrator in white, he specially opened a small house around the porch to introduce me the story of Buddha statues and sculptures. I am grateful that Google Maps is accurate and can be navigated to.
