Asokaramaya is a Buddhist temple located in the south of Colombo. Asoka is the name of a tree and also refers to King Ashoka. This temple was built to commemorate King Ashoka sending his son to Sri Lanka to promote the Dharma. They have an obvious Indian style, which shows the mutual influence of local Buddhism and Hinduism. Many local people come to the temple to worship Buddha with flowers.

There are sculptures such as the king's Buddha tooth and other sculptures. The statues of the disciples, roaming among them, is to enter the temple of Buddhist art. It is very worthwhile to go. When we went there were very few people, and the old man who took care of the monastery opened a locked room outside for us.
