Zengchong Dongzhai

Zengchong Drum Tower is located 82 kilometers northwest of Congjiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture. It was built in 1672 (the 11th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty) and is the oldest, largest and best preserved Dong ethnic drum tower in Guizhou Province. The drum tower is a unique folk building of the Dong ethnic group. It is the place where the Dong ethnic group gathers to discuss matters, resolve disputes, welcome and see off guests, sing duets, and play the sheng in the hall.

The drum tower in Zengchong Dong Village, Wangdong Town, Congjiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, was built in 1672 (the 11th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty), covering an area of ​​160 square meters. It is the largest, most well-preserved and most exquisitely crafted Dong drum tower in Guizhou Province with a long history. It is also a unique folk building of the Dong people, and is the place where the Dong people gather to discuss matters, resolve disputes, welcome guests, sing duets and other major activities.

Zengchong Dong Village is located in Wangdong Township, northwest of Congjiang County, Guizhou. Due to inconvenient transportation, it has preserved a simpler folk customs and a very natural village structure. There are also original Dong ethnic group songs, which I was attracted to even though I couldn't understand them.
