angyun, Dali, Yunnan Post - The earliest place called Yunnan - The widest Ancient Tea Horse Road and the largest horse inn
👉I've known about Yunnan Post for a long time, passing it countless times on trips from Kunming to the western Yunnan region. It is the first place called Yunnan, from the 'Yunnan County' more than 2100 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty, to 'Yunnan Commandery', and then to the present-day 'Yunnan Post'. It is known as the 'Origin of Yunnan'.
For some reason, I never visited this ancient Tea Horse town.
👉This time, during the holiday period, firstly, I happened to be in Dali, and secondly, I couldn't go to the overly popular scenic spots, so Yunnan Post, as a niche attraction, was just perfect.

🌼What to see at Yunnan Post:
1️⃣One of the best-preserved ancient Tea Horse Road post stations. There is a group of 'National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units' ancient architectural complexes, with many two-story buildings on the old street, indicating the prosperity of the past. Even more impressive is the 'Li Family Courtyard' which has 6 courtyards that are protected ancient buildings, a strength that is astonishing even today.
2️⃣The widest section of the Ancient Tea Horse Road. The nearly 2km old street of Yunnan Post was also part of the ancient Tea Horse Road, and it is the widest, with a width of 3.4 to 6.0 meters, allowing two teams of horses to pass side by side. The prosperity of the past is still evident. In the middle of the road, there is a central line made of strip-shaped stones (locally called 'leading horse stones'), much like the center lines on modern roads, a testament to the wisdom of ancient China.
3️⃣The largest horse inn. Yunnan Post was a key point on the ancient road, and all horse caravans from Kunming to western Yunnan, Tibet, and even Myanmar and India had to pass through Yunnan Post for rest and resupply. Over time, the largest horse inn in Yunnan Province was born here - Qianji Horse Inn, which is now part of the 'Yunnan Horse Caravan Culture Museum'. It is said that at its peak, it could accommodate more than 300 horses a day, requiring over a thousand kilograms of fodder, a truly spectacular sight. The museum displays a large number of caravan tools, caravan jargon, caravan songs, and introduces the Yunnan pony, worth a visit.
4️⃣The 'Caravan Museum' diagonally opposite the World War II Memorial Hall records and reflects the joint efforts to build the wartime highway (Stilwell Road) and the Flying Tigers' airfield.

You must have heard the 4 words of the south of Caiyun, but you may not know that the origin of the south of Caiyun is from Yunnan, which is the most developed place in Yunnan many years ago, and also the transportation hub of Yunnan Tea Horse Ancient Road many years ago, and now Yunnan is because of its traffic location. For the remoteness, and become less human. When I came to Yunnan, the first thing I saw was a long stone road. The walk on the stone road was very quiet, because I came earlier, there were no shops open, and there were no tourists. Even when I came here later, you will find that the shops are also local shops. There are several attractions here that are worth seeing. One is the Yunnan Mabang Tea Horse Ancient Road Museum. Although the area of this museum is not large, it is indeed remodeled with the houses of old residents. You can see both history and culture, and you can see the house building. Another is the local market, every morning in Yunnan, there will be a small market, here three or four dollars can eat delicious things, really back to the 70s and 80s. The third attraction is more niche, in the higher place there is a three-teached temple called the white horse temple, if you have time you may wish to come here to see, the color of the temple is still very good, but the road is not very easy to find, you can ask the locals.
Yunnan Yu is the only place where horse gang transportation is concentrated today, road transportation, railway transportation and air transportation are the living fossils of the history of human traffic development. The ancient town is not many residents now, and it seems very deserted.
Yunnan Badger is a dazzling pearl embedded in the ancient Silk Road in the southwest, which has been in history for thousands of years. The station is professionalized, large-scale, and well preserved, and is unique on the Southwest Silk Road.
[View] I like it very much [Fun] High [Cost-effective] Very good
The place that must travel to West of Luxi is not well-known in Dali's ancient town, but in fact, the original flavor retains the historical charm of the ancient town for hundreds of years, which is the memory of time.
Yunnan Yu, Yunnan's earliest station, Yunnan's name from this, World War II hump route a site, preserved horse shop, tea horse ancient road of the town. It may be because we arrived at noon, there were almost no people on the street, and the scene in the martial arts film suddenly poured up: a village, without a trace of popularity, the lonely man walking in the village, but feeling murderous, earth walls, stone roads, horseshoes, closed doors, closed doors, All of them are lonely and dead. After walking around, I still can't see a few people. Only a few old ladies are basking in the sun at the door. I can't imagine the bustling horse gang in the past. When I am hungry, I can only leave.
It is called the first place in Yunnan. The reservation is relatively complete. It is a small town, not the town center, not lively, but the air is fresh, the folk customs are simple, there are tea-horse ancient roads, World War II memorial hall, horse museum, white horse temple and other attractions, overall is good,
