Songtao Reservoir

Songtao Reservoir is located 20 kilometers southeast of Danzhou City, spanning Danzhou and Baisha cities and counties. Songtao Reservoir is located in the upper reaches of the Nandu River. It was built in 1958 and took 10 years to complete. It is one of the largest earth dam projects in my country. With a height of 81.1 meters and a length of 760 meters, it intercepts the galloping Nandu River in the Nanyang and Panjiayang Valleys. The area of the reservoir area is 144 square kilometers, and there are more than 300 islands in the reservoir. The total storage capacity is 3.34 billion cubic meters. It stores the rainwater in the 1,400 square kilometers area on both sides of the upper reaches of the Nandu River. A large number of water conservancy projects are connected through channels at all levels to form a unified irrigation system, which waters the land in the west and northwest of Hainan Island. . The Songtao Reservoir has a vast reservoir area, with more than 100 islands distributed on the vast water surface, surrounded by mountains and covered with vast virgin forests. It not only benefits from farming, fishing, and labor, but also is a good place for Hainan Island to cool off, go on vacation, and travel. The most popular is to take a boat to visit the scenery of the reservoir area and go boating on the blue waves, but seeing the mountains, towering ancient trees, clear lake water, and looming fishing boats, there is a feeling of boating and painting.
