Nice and excellent ways to experience local transportation. Very economical way to go to the other side of Dubai. The boat ride took about 5-10 minute only. There 2 type of boat operator. You can choose it by the boat size and seating arrangement. But both still cheap - 2 AED per ride. Really enjoyable eventhough it a short trip. It a must try for all the tourist out there.
Does it feel like the ancient maritime Silk Road? Indeed, Dubai was a fortress of the Silk Road in ancient times, a transit point for the exchange of goods between eastern and Western cultures, and the dock was a necessary venue for cargo transportation, leaving thousands of scenery. Now, air cargo has become the mainstream, the past wharf scenery is not there, now mostly for sightseeing attractions, you can only feel the past glory from the antique buildings.
