Diamanti Palace

The Diamond Palace is located at the main crossroads of the north of the castle. It was built in 1493 and was designed by the creator of the area, Biagio Rosetti. It is famous for its diamond-like exterior walls. It is named after the 8,500 diamonds on its façade: they shine the entire palace in the sun like diamonds. This extreme pursuit of opposite cutting is undoubtedly the best manifestation of the Renaissance's admiration for reason and calculation. Today it is the National Gallery, which houses the fine works of many artists of the Bologna Painting School.
