Neptune is the god of the sea in Roman mythology, which is Poseidon in Greek mythology. The Poseidon in this Poseidon fountain stands on a high base in the middle of the octagonal fountain. Around the base are mythical figures and Cupid. However, this statue is actually a reproduction, and the original is kept in the Italian National Museum
