Trip to Guangzhou, China 🇨🇳
It was a trip to Guangzhou, China 🇨🇳When we visited Guangzhou, we were amazed by its blend of modern skyscrapers, historic temples, and scenic river views. Whether you’re capturing the city’s futuristic skyline, ancient cultural sites, or vibrant street life, there’s no shortage of incredible photography spots 📸
Our first stop was the Canton Tower, Guangzhou’s most famous landmark. Standing at 600 meters tall, it offers a spectacular 360-degree view of the Pearl River and city skyline 🏙️ The best shots ✨ are taken from Haixinsha Island or the Liede Bridge, where you can capture the full tower reflection on the river. For a stunning cityscape, visit at sunset when the sky ⛅️ is painted in beautiful hues, or stay until night when the tower lights up in dazzling colors ✨
📍222 Yuejiang West Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China
We also explored Shamian Island, a peaceful oasis with colonial-style architecture, tree-lined 🌳 streets, and charming cafes. The best spots for photos are the historic buildings with European facades, the riverside promenade, and the quaint cobblestone paths. We recommend visiting in the morning for soft natural light and fewer crowds ✨
📍Shamian Street, Liwan District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China
For a taste of traditional Chinese architecture, we visited the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. The hall’s intricate wood 🪵 carvings, colorful ceramic figurines, and stunning courtyards provide countless photography opportunities 📸 The best shots are taken in the afternoon, when the golden sunlight enhances the details of the carvings and sculptures ✨
📍34 Enlong Lane, Zhongshan 7th Road, Liwan District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China
We then explored Huacheng Square, the modern heart of Guangzhou, surrounded by skyscrapers 🏙️ luxury shopping malls, and futuristic architecture. The best photos 📸 are taken at night, when the buildings, including the IFC Tower and Canton Tower, light up ✨ reflecting beautifully on the square’s water features. A tripod is highly recommended for capturing stunning long-exposure shots 📸
📍Zhujiang New Town, Tianhe District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China
To end our trip, we hiked up Baiyun Mountain ⛰️ a beautiful natural retreat with panoramic views of Guangzhou’s skyline. The best viewpoint is at Moxing Summit, where you can capture the city skyline rising through the mist. Early morning is the best time to visit, as the sunrise over the city creates a breathtaking view 😍
📍Baiyun Avenue South, Baiyun District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China

Amazing spot to visit. however, require wechat pay during reservation of entry ticket and maximum 6 tickets per account which is not really convinient for non local tourists.
Chen Jiaxuan, also known as Chen's College, is one of the most representative Lingnan traditional buildings in Guangzhou, famous for its exquisite decorative art and deep cultural heritage. Entering Chen Jiaxuan, as if crossing back to ancient times, every detail is full of ingenious carving and painting, from the roof of the pottery to the wall brick carving, all show the superb skills of Lingnan craftsmen. The architectural layout of the temple is rigorous, the layout of the three ways is magnificent, the courtyard is deep, the ancient trees are towering, giving people a solemn and quiet feeling. This is not only the place where the Chen family sacrificed their ancestors, but also the epitome of Lingnan culture. Many precious cultural relics and traditional crafts, such as Guangxi embroidery, wood carvings, etc., are also displayed in the museum, which is an eye-opening. Chen Jiaxuan is not only a paradise for architectural lovers, but also a good place to learn about Lingnan culture. Whether it is to appreciate the exquisite architectural decoration or feel the strong historical atmosphere, it can make people linger. As a cultural landmark in Guangzhou, Chen Jiaxuan attracts countless tourists with its unique charm, and is an art treasure trove worth savoring!
Chen Jiaxuan is full of Lingnan architectural characteristics, it is worth visiting in depth, the whole architectural art is breathtaking, must be accompanied by explanation to be worthwhile, with explanation to see the rich meaning of many details!
Guide Lu's explanation was very good. It is worth it to go to this place with a tour guide. Otherwise, you will just rush through and see the handicrafts. If you have a tour guide, he will tell you a lot of background and guide us to see the subtle details. It was a good experience to go with the tour guide for an hour and a half!
For Chen Clan Academy, which has a certain historical background, it is great to have someone tell stories. What shocked me was the Lingnan-style wood carvings. It would be great if you could explain it in more depth. It is worth recommending to friends around 👍👍👍
The tour guide's explanation is professional. It is the only ancient building preserved in Guangzhou. I think it is better to ask the tour guide to explain it. If you take a quick look at it by yourself, you will only get a sense of the old house, unless you have a good understanding of the landscape.
The Chen Family Ancestral Hall is located on Gongjing Street, covering an area of 770 square meters. The building is a brick-and-wood structure, with a quadrangle layout consisting of a main hall, wing buildings, and a theater building, with flying eaves and angled corners, which is exquisite and unique.
The narrator stared at the big sun and spoke very meticulously. He told the story of Chen Clan Ancestral Hall from the three reliefs and leak carvings on the big wall at the entrance. The two large wooden screens were beautifully carved. I also learned a lot of beautiful meanings and learned a lot of cultural knowledge. Thanks to the brother for his patient service. It was full of dry goods in more than an hour. Thumbs up 👍
