🧭 Recommended Walking Route and Interactive Highlights
A recommended walking route starts from the main entrance (near the metro station), connecting the core attractions. The full tour takes about 3 hours, and you can take the sightseeing shuttle anytime based on your energy.
Stop 1: Main Entrance and New Cultural Landmark
· Features: The park’s main entrance is right outside the metro exit, very convenient. After entering, don’t rush up the hill; instead, visit the nearby “Huacheng Academy.” This pure white building is perfect for photos and often hosts cultural lectures and exhibitions, free to enter and enjoy the literary atmosphere.
· Interaction: Check in at this trendy cultural space, participate in or listen to a literary event to add an artistic touch to your trip.
Stop 2: Haijing Dongji Garden (Korean Garden)
· Features: About a 5-minute walk northeast from the Academy, you’ll reach this traditional Korean-style garden built through China-Korea cooperation. The “Sejong Pavilion” and Korean-themed wall decorations inside are great for photos.
· Interaction: A perfect spot for exotic-style photography; you can wear hanbok or traditional Chinese costumes to create unique travel photos.
Stop 3: Ming Dynasty Ancient City Wall and Zhenhai Tower
· Features: Continue northwest from the Korean Garden to see the fascinating coexistence of ancient banyan trees and the old city wall—this is the “Guangzhou Ming Dynasty Ancient City Wall.” Walking along the wall leads to the iconic “Zhenhai Tower” (Guangzhou Museum). Locals say, “If you haven’t climbed the five-story tower, you haven’t truly been to Guangzhou.” From the tower, you can overlook the cityscape of Yangcheng.
· Interaction: Touch the 600-year-old city wall bricks, climb Zhenhai Tower to overlook Guangzhou, and visit the museum to deepen your understanding of the city’s history. Zhenhai Tower admission is 10 RMB.
Stop 4: Five Rams Statue
· Features: From Zhenhai Tower, walk about 10 minutes southwest to Mukegang, the symbol of the entire park and Guangzhou. The Five Rams Statue is based on the legend of Guangzhou’s origin, “Five Rams Carrying Grain.”
· Interaction: A must-do photo op! Take pictures with the Five Rams Statue and find the best angle to capture all five rams in your shot.
Stop 5: Beixiu Lake Area
· Features: Descend from the Five Rams Statue to reach Beixiu Lake, the largest lake in the park. It features lush greenery, a lake island, and beautiful scenery.
· Interaction: The area with the most interactive experiences. You can:
1. Row a boat on the lake: Rent a boat and enjoy the park from the water.
2. Feed koi fish: At the northeast corner of the lake in “Jinyuan,” there are many koi fish to feed.
3. Leisure and photo spots: There is a flower pavilion by the lake, and nearby the “Idiom Fable Garden” has a row of trendy green chairs, perfect for vintage-style artistic photos.
💡 Practical Tips for Your Trip
· Save Energy: The park has many hills; if you get tired walking, take the sightseeing shuttle. For example, take the shuttle directly from the main entrance to the Five Rams Statue, then explore downhill at a relaxed pace.
· Family-Friendly: If you have children, enter from the East Gate near “Dongxiu Lake Children’s Playground,” which has many play facilities.
· Red Route: If you are interested in modern history, enter from the South Gate (near Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall), climb the “Hundred Steps Staircase” to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Monument. This route offers a deeper experience of Guangzhou’s revolutionary history.
Overall, this route covers history, nature, and fun interactions. If you want to learn more about local specialties in any area or are interested in other historical and cultural sites around the park (such as the Museum of the Nanyue King), I can provide more detailed information.
Other visitors' reviews of Nanyue King Museum-The Site of King's Tomb
Show More ReviewsTickets can be purchased online or on-site at the same price. The subway is the most convenient option; the museum is right outside the exit. If driving, we parked at Yitai Plaza (16 yuan per hour) and crossed the street via the subway underground passage. After purchasing tickets, enter the museum and follow the designated route. First, go up to the third floor via stairs, starting your tour from the left. To visit the tomb chamber, advance reservations are required; no tickets are available for the day. After viewing the exhibition related to the King of Wannan, go to the second floor for the Nile River exhibition. The entrance is quite impressive, with a very strong atmosphere. You can see real mummies right at the beginning, with video explanations. Later, there are many exhibits explaining history and culture. Finally, there are four walls with interactive projected sculptures, which is quite interesting. At the end of the exhibition area, there is an interactive photo area where you can take a picture of your face and have it recreated as an ancient Egyptian, but downloading the photo costs money. Overall, the exhibition is very realistic and meticulously arranged, making it more suitable for adults to appreciate at their own pace; it's very educational. Children who are not in higher grades or interested in history and culture may not be able to concentrate on watching and learning, thus wasting their tickets.
