"Baishou Rock" is also known as Confucian Rock. According to legend, in the Southern Song Dynasty, the local residents lived a long life by drinking the water from the well here. In view of this, Shi Wei, the magistrate of Shaoding in the Southern Song Dynasty, wrote the character "Shou" in regular script and engraved on the rock wall of Confucius. The character "Shou" is 5 feet long and 4 feet wide. In the big "Shou", there are 100 small life characters engraved with real cursive seals, which are called Baishou pictures. Since then, Confucius Rock has been called "Baishou Rock". Today, these small characters for Baishou and Dashou are still clear and impressive after thousands of years, and they are treasures among the rock carvings on the cliffs of southern my country.
This small well-known scenic spot, Baishouyan, Yongfu County, is a bit off-site, and there are no other attractions around it. Therefore, apart from tour groups, we rarely see other tourists. Coming here is to read the word "shou".
The "Hundred Life Picture" is 175 cm high and 148 cm wide. The whole font strokes are very compact, and the pen is strong. The form is regular script but different from block letters. It is more solemn, simple and mellow. Its hooks are like demonstratives and points are like fairy peaches. It is neither a regular script, nor a script, nor a line of cursive calligraphy, but it also resembles the charm of a script like a script, like a script, like a line like a grass, but the nature is integrated, flawless and impeccable! The 100 Xiaoshou characters in the "Hundred Life Picture" have their own merits, different fonts, and none of the same. Among them, Kai, Li, seal, Xing, Cao, oracle bone inscriptions are omnipresent, and the stylistic source is also indicated beside the Xiaoshou character. It is a must-go for calligraphy lovers.
Coming to Baishou Town was an accident. There was no arrangement before the trip, but maybe this is the best surprise that fate has given us.
Came with the group tour the next day. There are many outstanding people here, and there are many centenarians. Baishou Rock is famous for its "Hundred Life Picture". You can also see the breadth and profoundness of the Chinese culture in the "Hundred Life Picture". It is a testament to the absorption and compatibility of ethnic minority cultures, foreign cultures, and religious cultures, and to understand local history.
