I brought my elderly mother to visit an old friend. Her legs are weak, and she gets tired after just a few steps. The moment we stepped into the hotel, we felt the hospitality was sincere yet respectful, warm yet unpretentious. The staff didn't crowd around my mother, making her feel uncomfortable; instead, they quietly pushed over a lightweight wheelchair, handing it to me so gently, as if afraid of making her feel burdened. This meticulous care made me feel right at home, even though I was far from home. I casually mentioned that my mother missed the locust flower cakes from her hometown. The next morning at breakfast, a basket of soft, steamed locust flower cakes was quietly placed on the table, their sweet aroma exactly like the ones from her hometown. My mother sat by the window, slowly eating the cakes, watching the shadows of the trees outside. Even the feeling of being a stranger in a foreign land vanished completely; it was like returning to the old courtyard where she lived in her youth.
