Outstanding

🎡It's often said that Ocean Park Hong Kong is "a paradise for the previous generation." This nearly 50-year-old park holds many childhood memories for those born in the 80s and 90s. My last visit was over ten years ago during my university years. This time, I brought my child back for many reasons. 🐧Don't worry about getting too tired or rushing through every ride. Just enjoy the cable car ride and see the animals. Here's a guide for you: 1️⃣Transportation: Take the MTR South Island Line to Ocean Park Station, Exit B. It leads directly to the entrance. 2️⃣Route: We recommend entering the park around 10 am → seeing some animals at the foot of the mountain → taking the Ocean Express train up the mountain → enjoying the rides and the show → taking the cable car down to watch the sunset → continuing to see the remaining animals. Try to avoid the peak hours when the cable car and train queues are high. (The park isn't large; don't try to follow a one-way route, it's exhausting. Just stroll around at your own pace.) 3️⃣Download the app: Check show times in real-time and plan your route accordingly. 📷 About the Scenery Compared to the artificial scenery of other theme parks, the unique and stunning sea view here is a huge plus. Be sure to take the cable car up or down the mountain; the whole ride takes about 8-10 minutes. Below you is the azure South China Sea, and before you are rolling hills. As the cable car slowly ascends, the entire Repulse Bay sea view unfolds before you, and you instantly understand why it's called Hong Kong Island's backyard. 🐬 About the Animal Shows It feels more like meeting an old friend. The animal shows here have been around for a while, and in the Ocean Theatre, there's no sense of absurdity or manipulation. The trainers' explanations are more like a conservation class, focusing on the animals' voluntary, instinctive behaviors. More than pursuing sensory stimulation, this place teaches children how to respect the life of another species. It's quite moving. 💰 About Costs The prices are relatively high; lunch costs over HKD 150 per person. Money-saving Tips: Eat a hearty breakfast, have a light lunch inside the park, and eat dinner after leaving the park. Bring children's snacks and water bottles; drinking fountains are available inside the park. 🫶🏻My impression after a second visit: The confidence of this established amusement park lies in its understanding of how to gently coexist with the mountains, sea, and animals. In this era of pursuing novelty and speed, Hong Kong Ocean Park is like a steady old friend, guarding its seaside location and treating every animal with kindness, giving us the confidence to take our time. 📌A few additional tips: 1️⃣ The tropical rapids will get your clothes wet: Waterways surround the entire rainforest area, offering not only rapids but also water guns for visitors to shoot each other. It's recommended to bring your own raincoat and shoe covers; buying them on-site is expensive and may not fit. 2️⃣ Photo Spots: · Shark Hunt: Various types of sharks; the further you go, the better the views. · Ocean Wonders: Giant viewing screens offer dreamy silhouette shots. 3️⃣ Double Restrictions on Facilities: Some rides have height and age requirements. Staff are strict, so read the requirements carefully before queuing. 4️⃣ Relax: Don't feel bad if you can't experience all the rides due to queues or restrictions. The most beautiful scenery in the park is between the mountains and the sea; a leisurely stroll with your family is the most comfortable way to enjoy the park.
